Asus Maximus III Gene + P7P55D prem VDROOP MOD

Hi!

These 2 boards CAN be very good if they just didnt have this dreaded vdroop. BOTH boards drop .1 volts in CPU-Z and on my Voltmeter. from 1.400 to 1.305v when loading, thats ALLOT. impossible to sustain crucial frequencies when overclocked with such a droop. Anyway, here's some IC's i thought looked important ^_^.

I'm also trying to learn how data sheets work so if you post what i should do please tell me how you read the datasheet so i can try it myself next time ^_^.

AARG and while we're at it... could you please direct me to my Rampage Extreme's (X48) Vdroop mod, this board has a HORRBILE drop (the one i have, not every rampage).

I dont think the EPU units are responsible for Droop bro, they are inactive until software is installed on the OS (and like hell we ever use it!

) the primary driver for the PWM will be responsible. I think some of the pics you posted up are on the money, i'll scout the datasheets hen I have a minute

Sounds really simple but finding datasheets is easy... google the IC code into Google... add "datasheet" to the search phrease if you're feeling pessimistic

I've never really got deep with CPU controllers so iv never derived my own vDroop mod :S

Damn forgot about this sorry. Yeah as above, need the pics of the voltage regulator IC's to see what mods are possible. A couple look promising but the EPU's arent the ones we need as k404 said. I have very little spare time atm but I can have a look when the pics are up.

Any reason why you can't use the loadline calibration features in the BIOS? I know with the Rampage Extreme this can cause dead boards at high vcore but what about the other ones?

Yes i felt like a total OC noob.

Since i am a 775 clocker, i always thought the loadline function was dangeorus and useless.

P7P55D premium, 1.475 in bios = 1.45 real = 1.35 load.
P7P55D premium 1.475 in bios = 1.475 real = 1.475 load Load Line enabled!!

so yea, load line fixes my problems... sorry for bugging.
