New CPU OPNs (incl. C3 Stepping)

Feel free to verify and correct the accuracy of this post as I'm going by limited information.
I am only listing OPNs that weren't previously known, hence the 740 BE, 405E, etc. aren't necessary.
This was compiled from all the new CPUs that popped up in the support list from Biostar after the new BIOS revision (with the revision notes of C3 stepping support added).

The first two characters are the brand and segment.
HD = Phenom, Desktop
AD = Athlon, Desktop

The next four characters are the model. The Phenom I obviously had 4 numbers (9600) while the Phenom II has 3 (940). There is either a X or a Z prefix with the Phenom II for the non-energy efficient parts. Z is unlocked multiplier, while X is normal (Z940 = 940 Black Edition, X920 = 920 locked multiplier). The energy efficient parts have a letter E as suffix (905E).

The last four characters of the OPN are the number of cores, cache size, and part definition.

Example:
Phenom II
4DGI = Quad-core, 512KB L2 per core + 6MB L3 cache (900, 700, and 500 series), C2 stepping
4FGI = Quad-core, 512KB L2 per core + 4MB L3 cache (800 series), C2 stepping
4DGM = Quad-core, 512KB L2 per core + 6MB L3 cache (900 series only???), C3 stepping???

Athlon II
32GI = Triple-core, 512KB L2 per core NO L3 cache (600 and 400 series), C2 stepping
23GQ = Double-core, 1024KB L2 per core NO L3 cache (200 and 100 series), C2 stepping


Phenom II

It's not in the latest Power and Thermal Data Sheet (Public Release) yet but I guess the GM code Phenom II's are the C3 stepping.

Athlon II
X4s and X3s use the GI code for C2 stepping that the Phenom II uses, so these new Athlon II X4's and X3's are all C2 stepping.

Synopsis:
965 Black Edition in C3 stepping* at 125W TDP.
Two locked multiplier 955 parts. One is still C2 stepping and the other is a C3 stepping*.
945 in C3 stepping*.
925 in C3 stepping*.
910E > 905E and in C3 stepping*.
820 > 810
Locked multiplier 720. The new highest 700 series part will be the Z740 aka a 740 BE. Personal prediction: The C2 740 BE has been on the books for quite a while and may be silently replaced by a C3 model instead.
Locked multiplier 550 in C3 stepping*.
For the Athlon IIs everything is either a speed bump or a new energy-efficient part. 400 series Propus arrives around Win 7 official release

To me it sounds perfectly logical that C3 is launched THEN 975

Seems like C3 revisions coming WITH the launch of the 975 would make the most sense. Otherwise I don't see AMD staying in their 140W TDP cap.

Just because the MB manufacturers have access to the OPNs for these parts doesn't guarantee they'll ever materialize in large numbers. In the past there were chips such as the socket 754 3200+ and 3400+ Venice, 6000+ 89W Windsor, and AM2+ 9850 95W that appeared in much lower quantities than their slower or higher wattage brethren (and often at a price premium). Some of these were held back for OEM use and then dumped on resellers later on when better things were already on the market and the novelty had worn off. The OPN for the X3 740 BE has been known for months know and it hasn't shown up.

Well, rumors and logic say it should be a 3.6 GHz product, probably 140W TDP, though who knows what C3 stepping will bring. It will probably be C3 since 3.6 is the upper limit for "stock" clocks on Phenom IIs... though I guess it's possible AMD could release a C2 stepping Phenom II 975 with 1.4+V. We''ll see I guess.

I just found the c3 stepping mentioned @ amd's own desktop comparison chart! If you follow this link it wil show you the AMD Phenom™ II X2 B53 (business model) with c3 stepping.
That should indicate that c3 will be right around the corner isn't it?

I asked him about the CPU, he said that HP is adding the new line that replaces the 5850 line. These will be in those systems. I not sure if this is in a new HP or he pulled it out of his arse... I am sure 64nomis would know.

OK, he sent me this and..... well maybe it is possible. No benches etc. AOD won't open, so it has to be on a after market board or how else is he OCing it. I think it is too odd, something is funny. He won't say anything more so I can't try to verify anything. I think he is blowing smoke up my Bumm. Can anyone verify if CPUID has these chips in the 1.52? Though the top discription is generic... oh well here it is.

Everything in the CPUz matches up with product spec for that Business Class model.The stock settings that is. The OCed frequency I can't tell,maybe he just managed 4Ghz @ 1.35V "stable" for a printscreen and light load?

He said that was actually bootable. It is Windows Vista 32bit. Voltage was correct and set in bios. I asked him for some benches at that speed, but he won't share them with me. Is there even a NDA on the new revion chips? I haven't really heard anything major about them. There has to be someon on here that has one or knows more.

The latest BKDG has some info about the C3 stepping. The chips will have two p-states for the nb and there will be a new C-state with the following characteristics. The L1/L2 caches will be flused to L3 or memory the cores will be in C1E state and running at ALTVID. Also there will be support for low voltage (1.35V) DDR3 1066.

Well it's not the new revision,it's a new stepping(C3).Revision change is D0,an Istanbul,or Magny-Cours.
C3 should just clock better and not perform better at the same clock.Deneb is fine as it is.

Yes the only thing a new stepping can do is lower tdp, higher clock potential and of course cooler system due to lower tdp and power usage . I am dying to see C3 and its oc potential Maybe a 65W X2 550 will release ?:P

informal: but it can be better, if new standart NB (uncore) will 2400 MHz.
Example +400 MHz at NB performance = as 100-150 MHz up clock CPU (CPU at 3000 MHz and 2400 MHz NB is similary as CPU at 3150MHz and NB 2000)
