There is no test of a HR-01 in high push-pull. So the comparison isn't 100% valid. Still it's a wash, either will give close to the same results. I'd go air over a basic watercooled pre made system.

This is XS, we think premade WC is a funny funny thing.

This is probably a better fit for the air cooling folks (you may have posted there, IDK since I don't visit). WCers will probably rip this apart and I foresee this thread getting volatile.
I would like to see the HR-01 tested with all the fan configurations the H50 was. Still, it is interesting to see LOW end WCing beat out high end air so significantly.

Bah! The Hydro H50 is just a slightly modified Asetek LCLC. Now I started WC'ing with a Asetek kit many years ago and they are "decent quality" company but, at this point in time, they're making toys compared to real WC'ing. I'm just glad there's no aluminum in it.

Heck there isn't even a high single on the air cooling, but there is for the H50.
So 100% fail on the comparison.

It's a review, not a scientific test like we love and depend on so much. It's really biased.

I'd ay it's a fail, due to the poor testing paramters. Brings back TT type of test memories.

Dang it! I checked a few reviews and not one mention that. Confirmed it by going to FCPU.

    100% fail? you're an idiot
the only reason I did a high test was just for ing fun to see what would happen
unlike a lot of you, I don't want my computer to sound like a damn jet turbine so I keep the fan speeds under 1500 RPM
the only comparison you really need to look at is the H50 medium vs HR-01 medium

Well your test was a fail, not you. LOL, You'll get better at testing as you get a thicker skin, no worries.

Water cooling is supposed to be recreational, it's not mandatory, and it's not a perfect science.

This isn't meent to compete against your high-end watercoolers... It's priced to go up against high-end air coolers.

Honestly I have an interest in it, no it won't be a huge upgrade in terms of lower temps but it would save alot of space around the socket i'd rather use for other stuff and gimicks :P

    maybe the correct test is:

hydro 50 (fan 1500rpm) vs Thermalright Ultra extreme 120 (1500 rpm fan)

Laugh at me, but my $50 including shipping refurbished thermaltake big water 735 is cooler than any air I tried.

Of course, it's prone to leaks, but I don't overtighten acrylic parts as a rule ... and with the expansion of metal under heat, undertightening is probably the route to take

The Nzxt Tempest looks much better with blue led fans up top, microcenter sells Xion 140 mm blue led fans for about $8. The color's a little darker but I prefer it than the Nzxt fans but I prefer it.
