That's a really good 940. What was the max stable on your last board?

oooooh............
Thats 100% AM3 now correct. It shure looks like it. Dang this is how they shoulda been made a year ago for AMD.
Cdawall ... question wondering if messing with the bios if there is an option to unlock cores?
I havent been able to get a proper answer if it could or couldn't.... if it does, this might be my next board

Yup looking for the same answer about unlocking have an unlocked 720be confirmed and running smooth on a biostar. Wanted to shift to AM3, but now I am confused between this the gigabyte and the msi......
I have this board too. I got it for a review and it worked fine. It's fast at default clock speed and you have plenty of bios settings.
Unfortunately it is semi-dead now.I tried to figure out max reference clock with default voltages and Crosshair III bootet up to 325 mhz. But it wasn't stable and after a few reboots it doesn't boot anymore. Lcd-poster says that INIT CPU and DET DRAM is ok but it then hangs on TESTCMOS. I tried lots of things (including hotflash) but I couldn't get it to work up to now. Hopefully a new bios chip from ASUS can help me to bring this baby back to life.
nice MB. Try please tweak with AIR superpi (higher NB). What is max +-stabil OC? Its better than 3900MHz? Can u to try in 64bit system Cinebench? thanks

I have been looking at the crosshair III but I already have the Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P paired with the 955 and I was trying to see it there is enough of an improvement to warrant buying the crosshair III.
BTW I also have the Asus M4N82 Deluxe which uses the 980A chipset and it’s DDR2 with three PCI-e 2.0 slots dual X16 or triple X8. The same 955 will run 3D benches @4100+MHz on both the Asus and Gigabyte MBs listed above using liquid cooling so the M4N82 can’t be that bad. IMO the M4N82 Deluxe isn’t as refined as my other Asus MBs but it allows me to run the GTX 260’s in Tri-Sli with the 955. The M4N82 is kind of like my Asus M3A79-T Deluxe using a very early bios.
me and one of the members of TPU are currently having a bench off between the UD5P and corsshair III i sold my 955BE so i don't get to post benchies off it but i have a 910 that clocks just as good lol.

Wait, this is a socket AM3 supporting a AM2+ Phenom2??? I thought you couldnt physically fit a AM2+ into a AM3 socket?
