    This is a crossfire board, though I'm sure some one will try. Why would they even bother except for the fact that Nvidias offerings suck as always? IMHO

    OK,
    just an update I got my X48 back he(rma) ran a raid set up on it to test it, he said there's no porblem with it. So now when I set it up I'll go with a straight OS no raid to take the load of the south bridge and hopefuly eleminate the problems I was having.

    Have a look here Intel Overclocking Guides. but it's quite simple. If you rthink of a car & a gear box. The wheels of the car rotate in a different rate to that of the engine , depending which gear you are in.
    just as you have 4 gears 1st to top (4th ot 5th) so you have a divider
    see

    THe gaers are shown as the divider row, If you look at the B column you see 4 values , these are effectively 4 gears:-
    2 means that the memory will run at 2:1 eg FSB=400 Ram speed = 800
    this is the lowest gear effectively 1:1 cause DDR means Double data rate , 2x fsb
    the other gaers or values mean that with the same 400FSB for example
    ram will run at
    2.4x400 = 960
    3.2x400 = 1280
    4.00x400= 1600

    Now just as formula1 has different gear boxes to suit defferent tracks Intel have different steppings (Columns A~D) to match the stock FSB of different CPUs,
    So if i'm correct you have your SPD setting on 2.66D because you have a Q6600 and it has a 1066FSB (266 quad pumped) for best setting.

    And it will result in a FSB of 1800 / 2.66 = 676FSB and your Q6600 will run at 2700GHz.

    Am i right?

    yes, though you don't have to stick with the strap that matches your stock FSB. For example my Q6600 & wolfdale CPUs run great on strap D 2.66D on ddr2 & 3.33D on ddr3.

    i am having trouble gettin to 3.4ghz with my quad! My multiplier is 9x and my fsb set to 376. The voltage is first set to manual at 1.325 and then auto. Computer never boots and everytime board switches back to auto and resets to 2.4ghz. All overvoltage controls were set to normal when i adjusted manually and graphics booster to auto. Same auto for ram. I am running two Corsair dominators 1066 2 x 1gb.

    Are you adjusting the memory multi so that it will run @ or near native clocks? It will reset back to no over clock if the over clock failed. While trying this only adjust one setting at a time so as to know what is causing the problem.

    Also make sure the DDR voltage is set properly for those sticks as this may be the cause of the failure to begin with.

    Any body try the F8a Bios update yet for the X48 DQ6?
    Ok, I finally over clocked on this bios and as it has been sometime sense I used the board it seems stable. I will report back with more sooner this time too

    I would reffer you to earlier postings of the Bios for a quad as my core 2 has very different settings else i'd offer to help you more.

    x48t-dq6 +e8600 oc problem

    dear all, please excuse me if i make mistakes with this post but its my first time (virgin) my pc: x48t-dq6 rev 1.3, e8600(batchq823a612),ocz 2x2 pc10666 gold series and gskill 2x2 pc14400 4gbgt1 memory(separately) noctua nh-c12p, enermax infiniti720,velociraptor 150gb, thermaltake armor case. vista 64 bit. bios f6a also tried f4 and f5

    my problem is that after spending many hours reading and trying to learn i still cannot get my pc to overclock using the bios by 1mhz. it will reach 390mhx using easytune 5 pro and setfsb but if i use the bios it reboots automatically 3 times . i have set pci to 100, disabled eist etc. increased ram voltage to 1.8v for ocz and 1.9v for gskill. have tried relaxing the ram timings but shouldnt (?) need to with such small increases. tried increasing cpu voltages . the board even reboots when setting everything back to stock . and after 3 attempts it boots normally into vista. i would be grateful for any help .
    thank you .
