    [XF]ASUS X58 series, true 16+2 phase PWM - P6T Deluxe launch soon !

Due to the 2008 Q2,the brand new next generation processor “Nehalem” (Even the official names call “i7” , but people used to call “X58”)has going to show up, and the spec was no longer like mystery ! code name ”Bloomfield” basically are Quad core processor, 45nm and using new socket level up to LGA 1366, but most important change is Intel Quick Path Interconnect (short name: QPI) to X58 chipset, it’s Triple channel DDR3 and directly control by CPU, not Northbridge anymore, also this is first time we can saw this technology in the Intel platform. So the memory socket has 6 dimms, bandwidth performance has over 1 times than dual channel memory, and PCI-Express slot up to 2.0 version and support multiple graphics configurations from dual to quad graphic cards

When you saw this presentation from Intel, you will know the basically spec of X58. this time XFastest.com is brought to you by ASUS P6T-Deluxe motherboard, after the first look report, we are bring to you the P6T’s performance review as soon.

    The board of front side.

    The board of rear side.

Northbridge heat-sink is different like usually design, especially you are using the down force radiator, can brings more heat from the heat-sink.

    The ICH10R southbridge heat-sink.

Also keep the great heat-sink design for mosfet near the CPU side.

Triple channel DDR3 has total 6 dimm slots, is very shock visual effect.

Also provide 3 PWM for the triple channel memory.

CMOS battery postion has move to the memory slot side in P6T-Deluxe, and the special blue jumper is means for increase CPU voltage.

    Back panel for I/O output.

Normal SATA II port are red color, special port is orange color, this port also can support SAS interface unit.

Same as P5Q series onboard switch, it’s real convenience for over clocker.

PCI-Express are using different design for more fasten graphic card.

We will update to you every detail of performance testing ASAP, please keep lock on www.xfastest.com , the world fastest 3C review site.

Is that a standardized backplate? That is awesome, along with the proper mounting of heatsinks throughout the mobo.

Can someone please explain why ASUS keeps putting pci slots between pci-e slots making them useless? Why cant they just put them at the bottom?

Hehe, the CPU socket actually has a backplate - I mean one that has nothing to do with heatsink retention.
And I like the vertical battery mount.
    :P
You were not supposed to see this.

    Floppy refuses to die.

Vertical battery is good, no more swiss army knife fooling around.

What exactly is SAS? I looked it up on wikipedia and it's some kind of predecessor to SATA (in a way). Only real obvious benefit that I could find was that you can now place your hard drives 8 meters from your pc, instead of the previously strictly limited 1 meter. Score.

And note how they spelled their own website wrong in the pictures.

@Cooper: Excuse my unknowingness but what is off topic in this thread?

Looking from the ASUS slides. They dont seem to show indication of problems with raising the 133 reference clock.

    SAS = Serial Attached SCSI

It's the predecessor to Ultra 320 SCSI using connector standards of SATA. Allows for point to point expander units, bandwidth aggregation, and all other kinds of cool stuff ;>

It's basically an advanced SCSI design but using the simplicity of SATA connectors kind of.
