I'm actually bare foot right now because I just got out of bed, but when I play sports, I wear Mizuno Wave Rider 10s, size 11. Cost me about $105 USD. Most comfortable running shoe I've ever worn.

Is that pure mesh? or does it have fabric behind?
I'm looking for some airy summer sneakers right now.

doc martens $140
Red Wing steel toe oxfords $170
And Fred Perry from the thrift store. $40
I usually don't get things from the thrift store especially shoes but they look like they have never been worn and they are super comfortable. I think the original selling price for them is $105. They are a golf like shoes. Here is a pic
I had a pair of Redbacks from Australia that were a great pair of work shoes but it had a bonded sole that was starting to come off after 3 years wearing them every day in a auto shop environment.
I also wear a pair of brown adidas, I buy shoes only for comfort (and will pay extra for it) and the style that I do enjoy is the puma/adidas slim running shoe look.
I have such flat feet that they make a flapping (not fapping) sound when I walk. And no I don't have clown feet (size 10). So I go with whoever has the least arch support. But that's only after the existing pair are too beat up to wear in public. For me, that means one or more toes clearly visible through the leather/canvas. Last pair were ASCIS(sp?). Took months to wear down the nominal arch support.
Cheap Converse FTW!!!

I thought I would just mention this: I would like to think I have a sense of style and such, however, I for the life of me can not understand why so many of the youth out there wear their shoes without laces or un-laced...I don't get it. And you've all seen them, or perhaps some of you wear them. The black etnies with the laces taken out or with white laces twisted (but not tied), I don't get this.
Eww. Converse shoes are EVERYWHERE! I was curious to see what all the fuss was about and went to try a pair on. Most uncomfortable shoes I've ever had the displeasure of putting on. There is practically no thought put into the design to make them in the least bit comfortable. Granted, they must be great for you because you have flat feet, but the majority of converse wearers can't all possibly have flat feet as well. This is a clear example I think of fashion over comfort.
Now, every time I see someone in those shoes I see someone who sacrificed comfort for style.
except when I have to dress fancy, my $59 boots are extra comfortable

I haven't seen everything converse is selling, but it's hard to imagine Converse and 'fashion' being used in the same sentence. Maybe they are fashionable but if so, it's in an anti-fashion sort of way. The hi-tops - which is what I had in mind - all stars I think - are plain sneakers with a canvas top. They're just plain ugly. I looked at their web site and my only other guess as to why people like them so much is because they have so many different patterns - which is easy to do when the sneaker has such a simple design.
But I haven't worn hi-tops in decades - used to wear Keds and Beta's - don't even know if they're still around. Now I usually look at New Balance first stick with low end running/jogging/x-trainers.
