the only thing you want to be concerned with is idle vcore and then load vore...what is set in the bios and what is displayed in PC Health section is not droop...it is a calibration problem with the bios code...i have about 0.04 difference between set bios vcore and what bios PC Health says is my current vcore...PC Health is not reporting the vcore accurately...even CpuZ vcore readout is not accurate as i read it from my DMM on the X48 board....AND...don't count on 'Easy Tune 5 Pro" PC Health readout.

EDIT:...the Gigabyte X48 board has about the same difference in loadline calibration as your asus...i think i measure about 0.020 to 0.025 difference between idle and load.

i can't understand :

i have drop between bios set, and prime full load with cpuz, is the cpuz reading faulty ? i set 1.4125 in bios and in idle cpuz signs 1.376 and under prime 1.344!

Is a loadline calibration problem? or is it the mobo that has a lot of vdrop ?

anyway i'm sure i need 1.3280 for rock solid @ 3400mhz under load, cause it was with pk5-e.. i have to set 1.4125 now in bios that after drop is equal or more 1.3280 and i'm stable, if i set 1.38xx the drop is lower 1.328 and i get errors..i see the drop is real

probably is the bios that not set vcore well, cause the vcore really setted is 0.04 as you say(pc health) . making the difference between drop (drop+error) and the error se, the real drop wold be 0.065/75 - 0.04 =0.025/0.035 that's a normal value

As Ace said CPU-z isn't accurate, In particular with vcore >1.40v
I find everest is about the most consistent it's ties back pretty closely to multi meter readings i've taken, though can't confirm it on this board yet.

Vdroop difference Idle to load is normally 0.03~0.04v with loadline enabled that reduces to around 0.02v as Aces's figures bear out.

The figures really mirror that of the Asus boards.

Vdroop also grows as vcore is increased.

luck

infact with load line vcore differences between idle/full is 0.032.

I can't understand why i have to set 1.4125 in bios while on asus 1.35 (1.328 full)

WORD OF ADVISE

DON'T use the X48-DQ6 (DDR2) with 4GB of ram and A Q9XXX, it gave me all sort of trouble, updating to latest Beta bios (F7B) did not solve a thing !
I finally got my board stable by removing a stick (crucial pc-8500) for a total of 3 GB!!

I use the GigaByte GA-X48-DS5 motherboard with 4x1GB DDR2 1066 from Kingston and Q9450 without troubles. However I wonder if this S3 bug also affects this board.

I have not found further info about it.

Let me Rephrase that:

If you'r using the X48-DQ6 with 4Gb and a Q9XXX and encouter some trouble (corupt installations, restarts, display coruptions Etc...) the first thing you should try is remove a stick or two of your RAM !!!

you have to understand mobo makers differ on how to regulate vcore and how they write the bios code to control it.

yes, but Vcore fine-tuning is always wellcome

the "problem" is not the offset, but how well loadline calibration work

http://img238.imageshack.us/img238/7...enormalrr5.jpg

i'm sure in next bios it would be better.

Great motherboard anyway, the best for X48.
