    Nice box for the heat exchanger. Is that an OUB 1 or an OUB 4 oil separator of Danfoss? It looks very big. How thick is the pipe insulation around the suction line? Why have you not used any rotary compressors? Which nozzle have you taken for the expansion valve? Good work as always my friend.

    Very nice build LD. Hard to see the piping but I imagine those two small condensers are desuperheaters for the 2nd stage?

    Perfect job as always

    SCxxCLX don't like high discharge pressure, try to make it as lower as possible, the difference is tremendous for these compressors (nice first stage condense ) with crapy volumetric efficiency with high discharge pressure.

    21bar is no problem, so what do you mean with "SCxxCLX don't like high discharge pressure" ?
    I would say that especially they do (in comparison to SCxxG for example).

    No they don't, cooling capacity decrease a lot with high discharge pressure (much more than on nl series or on common rotaries for example)

    SC18CLX (-40°C R404a) ==> 364w -> 262w -> 160w (35°C -> 45°C -> 55°C condensing temperature).

    Good job on the load testing, -91°C @ 250W is quite impressive

    That does not mean that they "don't like" high discharge pressure. Do they get broken? No they do not. Efficiency is something different.

    doesn't matter what compressor you are talking about, higher condensing temp cause less capacity no matter what compressor you use, the issue might be to small condenser...

    LD, are you using Danfoss OUB1 oil separator? You bought it for 181EUR+tax at Empor, right? Well, i just bought one, used, on eBay for 22€ including shipping costs.

    You both talk about differnt things.
    Clemmaster: Keyword "compressor ratio" (in german: Druckverhältnis ND/HD, Rückexpansion im Kolben usw... Wirkungsgrad sinkt beträchtlich, weißt du ja alles)

    It is just false to say the CLX do not like high discharge pressure. Since they are designed for 404a/507 they can deal with it.

    What if I told about volumetric efficiency? I think most people understand "don't like high discharge pressure".

    Another way : reduce the discharge pressure because volumetric efficiency decrase a lot with increasing discharge pressure.

    I'm not saying they won't work with high discharge pressure

    doesn't matter what compressor you are talking about, higher condensing temp cause less capacity no matter what compressor you use, the issue might be to small condenser...
    The resulting decrease isn't the same on every compressors

    SC decrease very fast compared to nl for instance.

    Clemmaster, I misunderstood it. Thats exactly why I thought you mean that "SCxxCLX" cannot handly high pressure.

    Did everybody unterstand "don't like" = "volumetric efficency is bad"?
