Eva, you need the droop man with 45nm, having no droop is worse than bad droop with these CPU's
Got a problem with your OCZ product....?
    Have a look over here

weird... my E8500 Q740A493T seem to clock higher and more stable with less droop on Asus Blitz Formula and helps on Asus Commando too passing 32M @5155Mhz on 1/4HP SS

550FSB under water is pretty good actually. Did you try it under cold?

How does droop help OCing? Or maybe I'm thinking about this in the wrong way...

Uh, so is Tony or anyone else going to help explain why droop is a good thing for 45nm? I got the LT believing that the droop control would be a benefit

    Excellent article on Anandtech.

On the flipside, some other people's thoughts.

Ah ok. Well I suppose being able to turn it on and off is a nice option to have then haha. Another weekend of no overclocking though...must join the e8400 hoard soon.

I've changed the chip for a C738A which is a little better at 500FSB+.

The board definitely doesn't like tRFC tighter than 30... a bit high IMHO. Nevermind, the Spi32M is pretty fast for 5292MHz and 512MBx2 DDR2. Will try with 2x1024MB tomorrow.

If I understand correctly this matter, I'd say, vDROOP is still the ennemy of overclocking; at least extreme overclocking.

Ok, eliminating vDROOP causes VID to become useless and peak voltage to exeeds VID value; but who cares?
    Best Regards,
    Xavier

I can confirm this as well...
Had all kinds of weird random errors for weeks with low tRFCs...
