Vista Ultimate x64: Coretemp 0.94/95 and Intel TAT Compatibility Issues

While I appreciate how fast the x64 Vista is and no major complaints for any other compatibilities just yet, Coretemp 0.94/0.95 and Intel TAT cannot be opened properly.

First of all, Coretemp 0.94 can still be opened after the poped up error msg but all the readings were messed up except the clock speed of the CPU.

0.95 will NOT open at all. There was the poped up error msg upon opening, but interestingly enough, the error msg goes into a loop and I had to go into task manager to shut them down. It was insane.

Intel TAT can be opened in a "flash and automatically closed". My human eyes can only catched that in a blink of a split sec.

Fortunately, the newest version of Speedfan 4.32 doesn't have any problems and all the readings were correct just like in XP/Vista x86 (32bit)

I know that speedfan has an accurate core temp readings just like Coretemp or Intel TAT but I'd still like to know if there a success way to get Coretemp and/or Intel TAT working properly under the x64 Vista.

    Please share you knowledge here,
    Greatly appreciated.

i've been searching for a resolution to this issue since vista's release. i run 64bit Business and Home Premium, and have been waiting for this fix for a while. for now i think we're stuck with speedfan or everest.

    Thanks for sharing.
I don't know if it's my new set of speakers not meeting my preference or is it the x64 Vista driver sucks for my X-Meridian 7.1
My mind has being wrestling with the idea of using 32bit or 64bit..:p

i think the audio has something to do with how vista handles directsound... i think we need to wait for better drivers for vista.

Hmm, I am using Vista X64 and Coretemp works perfectly with it. You need to disable Driver Signing for it to work.

that kind of defeats one of the main reasons for upgrading to vista x64
