Ideas how to cool the PWM chips on a x1950xt

I've been looking how to cool the pwm chips on my X1950Xt, the stock HS is total crap and even worse it has a thermal pad.
The problem that worries me is that between the PWM chips and of roughly the same hight are some resitors and I don't want to fry them. At fist I just wanteed to change the thermal pad for Arctic ceramique but the frekin resirosrs worry me. ides?
