Price is a bit dissapointing, considering that you can get a 7950GX2 for $469 after $30 Rebate.

But other prices have gone down, managed to get a new x1900xtx for $330 shipped yay

I imagine one of these X1950XTX cards will score about 18K '05. Thats of course with a good CPU/RAM.

woah, a bit high don't you think? I would say about 13.5-14k stock. Current stocks do about 12-12.5k don't they? I don't think its going to be as much of a boost over the current cards despite what people are hoping.

Prolly yes. They didn't change it from X1800 to X1900 so why do it now? Unless the new chips are in a different shape/size and your block wouldn't cover them (if it's a fullcover). We'll see by the end of the month for sure though

Course if you ask dangerden I'm sure they'll re-tool your block for a little cost.

Now ATI's already existent ring-bus memory controllers can really stretch their legs with GDDR4. I like how they put copper on everything, even the voltage regulators have a copper heatsink now instead of the red alum.

The Inquierer said that it would compete nicely with a 7950GX2, but we know how reliable they are. In any case, I think they are a little late in launching these as I can wait for R600 to arrive ~4 months after the X1900 refreshes hit. (unless they're planning to delay R600 )

Specs look right but the X1950 Pro isn't supposedly to become available until October and the price isn't yet confirmed. It's supposed to be somewhere around $199-249 though.

It's also a 12 pipe, 36 shader card, just like the X1900GT it's supposed to replace but it's clocked quite a bit higher.

Well the results are ok for a crossfire X1950XTX that may cost double than a 7950GX2....
As for the quad 7950GX2 well for the moment not many games know how to handle 4GPU's because of the stupid DX9 that dosen't allow 4 way AFR + the drivers that are a wreck wright know....who knows, maybe whith the next quad optimized driver nvidia will get it right...
Until then they deserve some for not allowing users tu utilize at least 60-70% of a 1300$ quad system

P.S I'm waiting eagearly to see how well those GDDR4 chips will OC until then X1950XTX will remain a pretty cooler that dosen't deserve an upgrade from X1900XTX
