    Lian Li S80- Pictures

Below is my new Lian Li S80 Aluminum Case. I read some reviews but never seen anyone else have it or post anything about it, so I thought I'd do it justice and post some of my pictures of it.

This case is awesome, very highly recommended. It's a very quiet case with the components I have in it and it's very powerful. The case is very high qulaity and very easy to work with. With the back cover on it does blow all of the hot air downward in the back, but I'm thinking of modifying the back cover with a blowhole in it to release the hot air upwards creating more fresh air in the bottom. There is room up top for a water cooling system as I've thought about installing one but I've decided that this computer will be just air cooled, I like saying that I have 23 heatpipes .

If you have any questions please post.

wow how much does that bad boy run.

i dont like the hard drive cages so close to the motheboard.
but i like the onboard hard drive heatsinks!

pretty nice case but seems a bit crowded on the bottom half.

Looks like your rear fan is in backwards...unless you meant to put it in that way for a specific reason.

is that small square-like hole the only way to access that top area? or can you remove the entire cover like on the bottom section? Thanks!

Nice case. I just got one of the V2100s. It's huge. I could just about sleep in it. It's all high quality craftsmanship, as well. Lian-Li makes some great cases- not that I'm the first informing everyone of this..

It seems a little high but tight... right?
In the top part you have a lot of space right?

Those heatsinks for every HD ... do they really work?

Nice, im not keen on the styling of the case but clearly Lian Li have taken another step up in quality, the heatsinked harddrive holders are a really nice touch. Could you possibly take a picture with the front door open, im intrigued to see what its like.

Im also slightly intruged by the upper half of the case, does the door serve any real purpose?

My only real critism of the case other than its styling on the outside is that for such a big case, it doesnt look like it could handle E-ATX

How does it cool ? The HD rack is right infront of all the front fans, no?

This case uses double box construction so most of the noise produced should hopefully be reduced by this method. It doesn't use foam insulation as in previous Lian Li sound deadening cases to maintain the good heat dissipation of the aluminum. This case is actually pretty warm, the airflow is decent but there are too many restrictions to make it a complete Xtreme case. Knowing this when you buy it is key, you have to know what you're going to get. This case is more for silence and quality than it is for being the coolest case. I was thinking about adding some watercooling to it, but I've decided it's great how it is. I'll leave the watercooling and phase change for my other rig. I guess the hard drive racks cool them fine, I don't have any temperature monitoring on it besides when I put my finger on it, and it feels fine, maybe more of a novelty.

Wow, that case looks slick "in person." The promo photos I've seen make it look rather ugly.

I've always appreciated Lian-Li cases. They carry a very understated elegance.

    Thanks for your pics!

I am considering this case as well. But let me get things right. I am concerned about the airflow. I have the following questions:

    1. Does the rear fan pull fresh air in which is directed to the CPU through the duct?

    2. What kind of noise do the HDDs produce since they actually have direct contact to the case?

    3. There are two intake fans in the front which suck air in from the side. So we have 3 intake fans but only the 80mm fan and the PSU let warm air escape this case. So the air balance is overpressured. Shouldn't there be some kind of underpressure to maintain a constant airflow because otherwise the case would heat up very quickly?

    4. How loud are the 4 fans (3x120mm and 1x80mm)? Do one need to throttle them in order to be completely silent?

    5. Can you compare the temperatures of your system's components in this case with another one (your old one)?

    Thanks!

Is this a mid or full tower? I love the design, but can't replace my current V-2100. They need one of these that is E-ATX and has the same number of internal bays as the other lian-li full towers.

very nice looking, but far too expensive, - the same price as a v2100 and not even a full tower!

Wouldn't want to mod one for watercooling either, far too pretty to mangle in such a way.

Hopefully some of the nicer features of this case will make it onto the next lian li mid range cases.
