    Why poor CrossFire Performance

I got in my hands a Sapphire PC-a9RD480 board, and two Sapphire cards, Eddywas kind enough to lend me some watter blocks and i got some nice clocks for CF system, but really poor 3dmark05 and 03 score. I us fx55, cause i couldn't get some nice dual core, could that be such a performance killer?

p.s. i only got the graphs and mobo for one afternoon, so that is all i could do, i am really disapointed with mobo generaly.

still awesome score for single core.

what voltage did you use on the X1900 core to get it over 800?

those are scores for CF setup, not single card, i did get 15k with single card a few days ago, so that's why i don't understand?

same thing here - CF is really CPU dependent and unless you have crazy dual core CPU clocks - you might as well stay single card...
    X2 @ 2.9GHZ with stock single card ~13k - dual stock cards ~ 15k in 3Dmark05...

It appears that with the X1900s CF is a lot less efficient as it is with X850s

Let's hope that this is still a driver issue - otherise X1900XT in CF would be not a wise choice

Does it have any thing to do with Crossfire not working as well as SLI. Is this similir to the situation with AMD vs. Intel? just different technology? Nvidia got it right and ATI is still learning. Im just wondering not stating any thing.
    Current Setup:
-9850 GX2's in Quad SLI config
    -Asus P5N32-SLI MB
    -2x512mb of PC2-5300 DDR2
    -Intel Celeron D OC'd to 3.2Ghz
    -Windows Me with XP theme

    I get 14950 with FX60 at 2.75 GHz and X1900 Crossfire at 675 x 747.

i was very disapointed with CF setup, and with that Sapphire mobo (piece of s***).
I think that dual core cpu is a must, so your FX-60 could score much better.

watterblocks are work of Eddy, www.cerkovnik.si if you are interested, really good blocks, i was impresed with temps i got.

Is your PSU strong enough? At first I was not giving this setup enough power and even though it shut down in 3DMark06 each time before half way through the first test I noticed the frame rates were very low. Then when I switched to a better power supply (700WATTS) the frame rates were much higher straight away. Might be something to try

OK, but an FX55 at 3.4 GHz and two X1900's at 800/900 are using A LOT of power. My Antec 550WATT shut down at stock speeds and I know someone who's OCZ 600WATT + X1900 Crossfire also couldn't handle the load at stock speeds either. Just my 2 cents.

Many of the reviews have X1900XTX CF set ups lagging behind the GTX 512 SLI set ups. With a single core its a clear difference, with a dual core the set ups trade blows.

I dunno. I hope it is a driver issue. I was planning on going to X1900XTX CF, but not now. It would be a break even scenario, or possibly a step back from my GTX SLI set up based on many reviews out there.

I hope ATI gets it fixed. The X1900XT single cards kick AZZ! They need to get CF working right. I want to go with CF bad.

They were wrong by getting caught up in the single card hype. ATI rules single card, but CF is very inefficient. There is no way in hell I'm dumping my GTX 512 SLI for x900XT CF until they get this resolved.

Well my X1900 Crossfire results seem OK and Im using drivers off the CD that came with the card. I'm sure the Cat 6.2's will do better though

    Everything stock speeds.
