Thumbs up News flash: NF7-S is coming...

My source at Abit Taiwan has confirmed that the new version of the NF7-S will start being mass produced this week or next week at the latest.
Despite previous rumors, the board will not be called rev.2 but rev1.2 instead.
The new NF7-S will feature a max. Vcore of 2.2v and a max. Vmem of 3.2v

I understand that you couldn't use your water block, but how can you stand not messing with a new board. I mean just sitting there would bug the hell out of me.

I heard yesterday that a source in Norway also reported the rev. 2 boards being available in retail channels in the next couple weeks. I have an email in to my Abit source inquiring about the "official" take on all this...been waiting...and waiting...and waiting!

I wonder if they are changing the NF7 (non S) too? Damn, I'd love that much voltage on my ram......yummy.

I heard back from my Abit contact, who I met with at Comdex 2002, and have corresponded with since that time.

Here was his answer about the revision 2 boards via email response:

    Steve,
It is very close hitting the market right now but I still have not seen them in the warehouse yet.
He's a very reliable source who frequents this board and also is on the Abit forums here:

    http://forum.abit-usa.com/

He'd probably tell you I've been bugging the crap out of him since Comdex, but he's a great guy!

WxChaser, that source in Norway was my contact

He said that they expected it to be in stock at the end of this month. And yes, even WATCHING the board is killing me. So i stuffed it back down in its box and "accidently" put it on the top of my closet. I was sooo close to slap my TBred 1800+ and Samsung PC2700 DDR and my brothers old hdd on to it yesterday, as i have a GlacialTech Igloo 2320 lying around waiting for the NF7-S northbridge but i restrained myself thinking of rev 1.2 or 2

Someone sent me this info on the new rev:

"got the newest Abit revision NF-7s up to 230 Sync in single channel mode with no mods"

    Sounds promising.

Well, I've got a 1.1 board, and since I'm not a hardcore overclocker, I can see no reason to upgrade. Still, I'm able to run my XP2400 (15x133) at 11x200fsb with the available voltages, so I'm not exactly missing out on all the fun.

yeah I have xp2100 AIUHB that will do 2325mhz @ 1.825 volts on air sitting beside me, just no motherboard to go into yet, this new nf7-s sounds like it might make a nice home for my new cpu

If you can change the chipset voltage on this board, im sold.

You make it sound like having the 8rda+ is a bad thing LOL

Can the abit really outperform the epox? Especially when they come out with their revision 2.0 or even the 8rga+?
