FYI: Neo 2 Plat and BFG OC increase agp voltage

I saw some posts about issues with the BFG OC and Neo2 Plat

I just got this mobo..when I ran my A64 3200 and Neo2 Plat at stock settings with the BFG OC at stock ..it would stutter in 3d mark05 and stutter and crash HL2....

I upped the voltage to 1.6v and stuttering went away

I also found the gpu core will not overclock as well on this mobo as my previous Abit IT7 Max2 rev2(BFG OC 375/870) on the Neo 2...360/870

So I am guessing the agp slot is undervolting a bit and it limits these videocards which already have core overclocked....

I am sorry if this was determined by others but I saw another poster very upset a day or 2 ago about this

I've been having similar issues with my 6800 Ultra and the MSI Neo2. Still not 100% fixed, seems that my CH-6 ram isn't playing nice (need to flash a modded BIOS but I need floppy and crap and I'm lazy)

Upping the AGP voltage has helped my stability though, I think I might have some other issues but I'll vouch for ya that your not the only one with video issues

Just curious..have either of you disabled the ATI/Nividia speed up option in the BIOS...if you are not running the latest 1.51 Beta BIOS...you will have to bring up the hidden BIOS option menu to disable it...was having the same issues until I disabled that option...

I'm running MSI's 1.4 and yea, speed up is disabled.

Might not've been the AGP voltage though but feels like it made a difference. I'm still having some issues with games... interestingly enough though, running a 3d burn in app with F@H I get no issues at all..

You guys are not alone. Could be chipset issue though. Intel boards for 6800s always shows me easy 30-50mhz more core overclock than would do on NF3 variants of boardd for me.

I found disabling Fast writes seem to do the trick..I ran 3dMark05 with my agp vcore at 1.5..no stuttering and my score went up 400 points without the stuttering....

the card will o/c now back up 370/870 but at that gpu core I see artifacts I do not recall before....so I settled at 365/870 16p,6vp...3Dmark05 between 4230/4291..at 370/870 I got 4399..I may try to game at 370/870 and see if there are artifacts

    I am running 71.24 drivers

I have nv/ati speed up disabled of course...fast writes is disabled in rivatuner as well

I am using the 1.36b bios..I havd some real issues with 1.41mod bios...caused Prime95 issues at known stable 2550 cpu speed with the 1.36b

Key for me so far....not test alot in games seems to be fast writes...
