very nice, but Im sure, the real clock will be not in stress 5300 MHz. This older boards 890fx has not APM power management setup. I wrote about this problematic one year ago here:

Wait what??!?! How the hell does a motherboard that not only barely even supports any Zambezi chips also support Vishera? Is it some kind of hidden test code in the BIOS? Does this mean I could put one of these CPUs into my 770t chipset motherboard and have it work?

Vishera doesn't change much over Zambezi. Pretty universal if the board supports an 8150 an 8350 will work in it. This is confirmed working on a lot of boards first to come to mine is the M4A89GTD.
Just flash it with the 1100T the 8350 wont post with 2002 IIRC.
The Beta Bios 3027 provided support for the Zambezi CPU on the CHIVE mobo, and since you are correct that there is very little difference with the Vishera revision, we got lucky that it works also. As far as Turbo and APM, if they are aspects that drive your selection of a motherboard, then you should have never bought the CHIVE originally. Once you have overclocked the Vishera to over 5Ghz, Turbo or APM wouldn't work anyway. If you don't have any asperations to overclock, don't even bother with this combo.
This mobo allows serious overclocking:

You are saying -
APM is disabled by default, or disabled automatically when overclocking (many boards do not do this) or the option to disable (if it exists) actually works?
Turbo is disabled by default
You are able to use it normally, without the workaround including AMD Overdrive (Enable/Disable Turbo)???
I think you misunderstood what I was saying.

Hey wez, yes phase.change cooling me and some of the other guys here, hows she running your FX8350 with the CHIV Extreme......im happy to see others doing this, i remember the 3027 bios is for the bulldoser cpus test bios kind of from the begining.
are you running the 3027 bios?
please tell me the procedure how you flashed 3027 and some set ups in your bios when you switched to fx8350
thanks

Put the 3027 bios file on a hdd/usb stick, and then load the flash application from bios and follow the instructions
No extra setup in bios should be needed for it to post.
Just be aware of the biggest issues: Down clocking of cores due to APM messing with things (although this is not affecting me any more...), workaround for that is to disable APM with AMD Overdrive or similar apps. The issue with steam CEG protected games are still present as well, and the workaround for this is to run the Orochi-CEG app made by Stilt. click on above link for cpuz
6 cores running only , i had set to manual didnt see the cores open in bios, i put to auto core activator didnt see it in the post screen.
i wanna set my cpu voltage to 1.5v how do i do it?
thanks
http://valid.canardpc.com/2606659
how can i unlock to 8 cores i trid this and that in the bios
how can i up my cpu voltage to 1.5 manualy constant or the easiest way thanks
thanks steve
Drop the FSB to 225 mhz and raise the multiplier up to 22.5. The voltage adjustment is in BIOS by a CPU voltage increase. Set it to +.175V. Dropping the FSB to 225 should release the other 2 cores. I just checked the ASUS ROG Probe II program that came with the CHIVE and it will raise the CPU voltage, give it a try.

I don't want to start a new thread for this question, and this is the most recent "Crosshair IV/ FX" compatability thread, so here goes. I noticed that when there was no overclock on my fx 8120 and CHIVF, there was no issue with throttling. I could even take it to 3.2Ghz with no throttling. Do you suspect that the situation would be the same with say a 4170, or 4300? I ask because I am building a computer for my parents, and I know that they won't be opening AMD overdrive to enable/disable turbo core everytime they use it, and even though they probably wouldn't notice the throttling, I can't live with it. Hope my question makes sense.
