I am looking forward to seeing someone really push this chip. 4.7+ on air seems possible. If we can finally get a 5ghz stable chip on water for 24/7, this will be a landmark for AMD.

Please tell me you will at least try water eventually!

I need a job, b/c I want one badly now!

Not the case. I have tried 3 times to purchase via phone order and because it's not listed on their website, BUT in stock, they wouldn't let me order it. The guy gave me a song and dance that they aren't supposed to sell them until tomorrow. It appears someone caught up with them selling early. BTW, he did say they had 1 in stock

a bit overpriced, but only few available
(AMD got mad about "early sales" with 1055T, so they limit the stock around to keep things in check)

From my source only < 10 pcs of 1090T available in Golden Shopping Center today, but all were sold / pre-ordered ( I was lucky to get the last one)
They are listed on amazon as:

    1055T ---$222.29USD
    1090T BE $324.65USD

I ordered a 1055T on Saturday and it will arrive between Thursday and Saturday this week. I might be reinstalling my OS when I get the new CPU because Im dealing with an install of vista thats over 1 year old. And Im having a lot of glitches happening because the OS is so old.

so the 1055T seems to OC better than any other AMD chip to date, and the 1090T seems to kick its ass. might seem very justifiable for the price difference between them.

ALL these 1055T chips seem to be doing what good i7 920s on air.

I can really see someone hitting a benchable 5ghz on air via 1090T.

For the price, the 1055T might just be the best overclocker ever. That'll be proven or dis-proven very soon.

    Good news everyone:

    /snip

K9N2 Diamond (nVidia 780a) Thuban CPU Support?
I have a 1090T on the way via UPS right now and am currently on most recent BIOS V2.6. Is there a beta BIOS pending that I could obtain for this specific board if it is not POST-able with Thuban on the current BIOS.

If not what is the aprox ETA on Thuban support on current AM2+ boards if any.

    Dear Phil,

Thanks for contacting MSI Technical Support Team!
Regarding your concern, the future BIOS A7375NMS.270 will be able to support AMD six core processors. However, the priority for the K9N2 Diamond is low. Therefore, kindly please wait with patience. We will let you know as soon as the BIOS A7375NMS.270 is released.

    Best regards,
    MSI Technical Support Team!

How do you think I feel?

I have an overkill system (for my needs) as it is. Now I want to finally have a 4gh chip, but no way to justify a new set up.

With Deneb & now Thuban, AMD is really fun again.

I just have a problem with wanting to play with the newest tech ala the watercooled 470.

I thought I was decided on the 1055T as well, but the 1090T is looking mighty tempting even with the higher price tag.

Can you take a pic of this? I want to see how you WC'd the GD70.

I usually see Intel systems under water. There's just not so many AMDs on the WCing forum these days.

I have an mcp655 & XSPC 360 sitting around. I just need a block and I'm good to go if I wanted to move in that direction.

What blocks for the board & cpu are you going to be using?

I would love to see temps when you get around to it.

Ive always bought the one down model this will be my first top dog purchase.

Still done well with the step down models but always feel I could have done better.

Besides that I dont have much confidence in fsb's over 250 being fully stable for most boards.

My rule of thumb is dont every expect more than a 25% oc on amd's so a 1055t to me means only 3.5ghz full stablility

25% is a pretty decent expectation but i won't be surprised seeing guys running stable at 50% oc (4.2ghz)

I never saw anyone show that 1055T running prime95 or crunching stable. +4ghz

So I reserve my right to my 100% stable to being 25% oc.

Unless you got something to show me that I missed Ridney.

I was wanting 4ghz for sure so I went 1090t, still might get a 1055T for crunching.

i don't have anything that i can show you but based from my personal experience on an x6 and from what i have seen, it can consistently run benchable up to 4.5 or even 4.6 so clocking down a bit to 4.2 would possibly yield a stable result. c3 denebs have been running 4.1ghz prime stable and these chips are pretty much better than any c3 deneb

The blocks are out to Red @ the moment for plating. When they get back I'll make sure to snap a pic for you.

I did have an HK 3.0lt but am going to be running a EK Supreme HF Cu once the plating is done. I was in Europe over Christmas and I picked up a 790FX Block from Anfi-tech while I was there.

This is the PWM block I'm going to be using except it's gonna be plated in Chrome instead of copper.

My 955 C3 was 4.2 Daily on water so i have no fear the X6 should do the same or even higher with a good 890FX board

I got mine 4.5GHz SuperPI Run only.......
However 4GHz w/Six Core is very solid
enough for gaming , just have fun with Bad Company 2 for an hour
and no crashing / BSoD at all

As my testing platform only have HD3450 (too weak for this game)
I set the Bad Company 2 as "Window mode"
Turn on the "TMonitor" and task manager to see if the game uses multi-core

The game did uses more core
