    M3A79-T and 9850 3.6Ghz Validation

I think this makes me #3 at ripping.org so far...... Ah, the things that please a simple mind

Looks like CPUz rejects every entry when AOD is loaded at the same time. KTE has the same problem, and SoF did too, they had to force it. Oh well, gives me more time to go faster.

Adobe is working on Flash Player support for 64-bit platforms as part of our ongoing commitment to the cross-platform compatibility of Flash Player. We expect to provide native support for 64-bit platforms in an upcoming release of Flash Player following the release of Flash Player 10.1.

Cheap junky Ultra X connect 600w PS with terrible 12V regulation (I've got a thermaltake toughpower and a Zalman, which might give me better voltage regulation at higher speeds, just too lazy to transplant)

Water cooling is Zalman ZM-WB5 CPU block, running through 1/4" (6mm) hose, Thermaltake Symphony cooling tower modded with 1 Danger Den DD-CPX1 pump and bored reservoir ports.

BIOS is initial release, don't even know what the version number is.
This same 9850 was only capable of 2.9 stable@ 1.4 volts on several SB600 boards. It attempted 3.3Ghz on the Gigabyte 790GX board, but it was never really stable.

I'm gonna get my 9950 in it sometime later this week as well as hook it up to my 1/2" (13mm) cooling system and a better PSU.

I can get it to 18.5 multi, but CPUz and AOD together is toxic at the moment. I need to fiddle around with a couple of other things, but I can get it much higher I think.

FYI, I think KTE also got this to work on his Gigabyte 790GX board it looks like with a 9850, but also having trouble with CPUz validation..... so it looks like we are finally getting there.

If your 9950 is that friendly with an SB600, I bet you can crush it with the SB750!!

Damn 5MHz more than I got validated, also saved ~3620MHz but then the system froze and the file got corrupted. Had the chip at 3.6GHz in the Gigabyte and AsRock 790GX boards and had to use above 1.6V. Anyway congrats man.

    Yeah, but you used a 9950, I used a lowly 9850

That chip was cheaper than my 9850. But you could go and grab second place on hwbot now.
    How stable is it?

Yeah, I know. The 9950 was much cheaper.... I'm curious if it will be a better clocker than the 9850. I'm just about finished playing The Witcher, and don't want to break up my DFI/9950 rig until I'm done maybe tomorrow or thursday.

Its so-so stable. My power supply sucks in my test case, so I need to move it into my real case with a real power supply. Also, the real case has a much MUCH more substantial cooling system in it, the test system doesn't move enough coolant quickly enough. I should be able to get more out of it.... I WILL get more out of it

In my case i could not do much more but increasing ref HT and saving cpu-z files. Could run superpi up to 3550MHZ, but prime95 stable max was 3345MHzon Gigabyte 790GX. That chip was not stable at 3.1GHz in the Sapphire 790FX. My 9850BE still freezed at ~2.9GHz but that chip also does not run 533 mode on my tracers. What max did your 9850BE reach prime95 stable on the DFI790FX?

Is AOD the windows OC thing? I'm guessing you OCed from your BIOS. Also what kinda cooling you using? Can you do a superPI test?

On the SB600 it was worth about 3.0Ghz stable, but it had its moments where it got cranky. I ran it at 2.9 cuz it never threw a tantrum there. I'm not sure of the Asus will be stable @ 3.6, but it sure looks cool. I suspect that it will be fine at 3.5, which is still pretty AWESOME!! considering what we've all be struggling with since last december.

I'm currently doing a build with RAID 5 to see what kind of performance it has, and whether its worth doing in a production gamer. I reset the whole BIOS to stock for this experiment. I especially want to see what the AMD/Promise RAIDExpert looks like. It gave me some trouble on 1 of my 780G machines, I lost data, but I recovered it with some nasty software that I have

Actually, I did almost all of it from AOD so far, which surprisingly, did not cause the machine to spontaneously combust (version 2.13) like previous versions. I did set most of the voltages in BIOS though, as AOD is too moody with that, and Asus only provided hooks into a couple of the voltages from AOD into their BIOS. Cooling is described in detail above. I've done no benching yet, just basic testing and stability. No Prime, no Everest, etc. I'll get it to max stable, then try and run SuperPI. Don't think I can take SoF, but I'm sure gonna try

It takes time for the scores to show up. Definitely not a perfect system, run by one guy I think, very part time

SoF is the first guy to break 4Ghz on a Phenom. He did it at the games convention in Germany last month. Did it on a Foxconn mobo. He also posted fastest SuperPI time I think for AMD ever (?)
