Superb machining, I'm curious how will cu+al combo act on ln2? If I'm correct al will squize cu, did u left some space?
Born to overclock
The LN2, if used properly would only be in the base of a pot. So even if the copper base had the aluminium attatchment on, it would be no advantage.Originally Posted by Misko82
You do have to be cognoscente of dissimilar metals corrosion, especially copper and aluminum as they have different electro-chemical potential even @ no current. there are so many aluminum alloys and this subject is very complex I'll stop here, further studies recommended on your own.
The Laws of Thermodynamics say:
Zeroth Law: "You must play the game."
First Law: "You can't win."
Second Law: "You can't break even."
Third Law: "You can't quit the game."
Do you wanna Play Thermodynamics ????????I forgot "you must"
As with all your other work this looks beautiful also![]()
U don't get it, I wanted to say, if al squize cu on sub zero maybe it could break or damage cu part or something similar.Originally Posted by Brettbeck

Guys i think, i will not have problems, there is also 0,5 - 1mm space for special washer and i have groove in both parts alu/cu for that washer.
I will test it next week and tell you results.

Oh you mean where the two metals join, they might make one another brittle with the coldness and break? I doubt that would happen for several reasons, such as they aren't moving parts and you wouldn't dismantle them until you had finished benching, and let it warm back up. And also, don't forget k|ngp|n's dragon pot's use the same metals, and noone has had a problem with themOriginally Posted by Misko82

@ LittleDevil I see u are using butterfly screws, it's not good when u are using wider pots or thicker insulation, better use with regular nuts.

p.s. this is 60mm wide pot I guess?

damn... very nice pots... i think you are in my head LD because i have the blueprints of some new pots at the machine shop and they are identical to yours except the screw alu body and the center pole version!

if this is your first night in xtremesystems,
you have to overclock.
It was only -4 degrees in his shed on that occasion so I don't think condensation was a problemOriginally Posted by esdee

Bloody hell!!! Look at that thread. Amazing workmanship LD. I think i defo need one of the coper pots and a SS unit from you! Has just got tbe done as they are not only full on function to the T and more but they are just bits of art.
Do you plan to be crafty and make something alone the same lines for GPU's too?
Thanks Pete, PM me and we can talk about CPU Pot and SS unit.
For GPU pots contact Shark-357, i will not make them right now. I think he can make you cu/alu GPU pot:http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=133215
Got orings and they fits pefrect![]()
EDIT: Testing this weekend
