Please Show me 8 hours dual prime95 Conroe OC

    Hi,

I too have a Conroe E6600 stepping 5. Would like to see who has managed good overclocks that can run Dual Prime95 for 8 hours Torture test! ( I have always found that 8 hours of dual Prime95 means that I can run just about anything for long periods without having to worry about losing data)

    I can bench 3384mhz @ stock volts.

I find that games need more voltage to get stability.
I'd like to see what you guys are really getting for 24/7 use, especially if you use your pc for important tasks - other than just benchmarks.

    regards
    Raja

Thats amazing stock vcore. I hope to get 3.6Ghz 24/7 with minor vcore adjustments (water). Even if it overclocks more I'll leave it at that except for testing.

Well that's for benching only, games needs 1.39v for stability at that speed.

Still an oc of nearly 1 ghz on the mediocre DFI Infinity board is not bad.

Infinity 975X is a good board with broad range of voltage options, water cooled the NB will help stability.

    Heres VNB @ 1.74V...

Intel D975XBX Badaxe temp reporting seems to be off by +15C to +22C it seems

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=105094
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=103494
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=105761
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=105143

I use coretemp app http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=103638 and http://www.thecoolest.zerobrains.com...opic.php?t=137 to measure the temps. Seems at 3750mhz with 1.488v (haven't tried lower vcore for this speed) for my 2nd E6600 QPGE cpu it runs around 10-12C hotter than my 1st E6600 at 3750mhz at 1.441v but seems to clock slightly higher than my 1st.

Here's my E6600 QPGE B1 stepping #2 running Stressprime 2004 'Orthos' dual core version http://sp2004.fre3.com/beta/beta2.htm which is basically Prime95 v24.14 with a new GUI interface

click on image for full screenie

    Room temp = 23-25C
    Cpu idle = 41C
    Cpu load = 70-72C

So knock off 15-22C means around 50-57C load and probably 26C idle on Swiftech G4 Storm water cooling. That seems about right considering same stepping E6600 graham_h has at 3807mhz at 1.44v is idling in windows at 46C on air http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...4&postcount=42 (a difference of ~20C from air to water is within normal range).

No I'm just a normal user. I wanted to see what to expect for 24/7 Conroe use when overclocked. Most of us have been impressed with Superpi which is fair enough, but still feel unsure about how stable the overclocks really are.

I got hold of an E6600 on friday, finding I could get good overclocks on stock vcore into XP, that would fail on games or under really heavy load. So I posted this thread to see who could really provide good reasonably stable overclocks for everyday use.

right now this thread and other posts have shown that 3.3-3.6ghz is the ballpark figure for an E6600 and 24/7 use, obviously some cpu may exceed or fail this level.

I have no hidden agenda here, many users on other forums have been asking the same and it certainly does not harm Intel's reputation if we know what we can expect for our machines for everday use.

    regards
    Raja
