Description of Change to the Customer

Boxed Intel® Pentium® D Processors 930, 940 and 950 will undergo the following changes for the B-1 to C-1 processor stepping conversion:

    • CPUID will change from F62 to F64
    • C-1 is pin compatible with B-1
    • New S-specs for converting products
    • The advanced power management features Enhanced HALT State and Enhanced Intel
    • SpeedStep® Technology will be enabled
    • The Pentium D Processors 940 and 950 will change from the 2005 Performance FMB (130W) to the 2005 Mainstream FMB (95W)
    • The Platform Compatibility Guide indicating the processor FMB will be added to the processor mark as illustrated with the following example:

Does anyone already have one of this C1's ?

And the 930D isn't going to consume less Watt's also ??

The 930 C1 will not reduce the power consumption / heat levels from B1, they are in fact the same specifications.

I have seen several online retailers such as www.jr.com listing processors as having the speedstep feature.

I have emailed those retailers and asked them to verify this for me or to guarantee that the information listed on their websites are accurate. I have not yet received a satisfying response from any of them.

www.pchotline.com does list steppings in their product info but they are all B1..

There was some discussion about C1 steppings in this thread: http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=97308

    Thanks JimboJoe43.

As for a good OCer wich do your guys recomend ? 930 or 940 ?

Will the 940 C1 OC better now because of less heat produced ?

In Germany we are all awaiting the new stepping but it has yet to come. People here got 9xx CPUs with a 05/06/2006 pack date and it was B1.

hi guys, has anybody even seen one of these C1 revision CPU's?
I ve been looking around for a week now and nobody has heard of them.
I ve been checking the boxes at retail stores and they all have written on them: SL94R which is still the B-1 D930 CPU

There are 3 ways to see that.

in the sSpec : C1 ones are SL95_ instead of SL94_

in the IHS : it should be .../800/05A

in a program like CPU-Z : it should say C1 in the stepping
