Okay, I've removed the shim of epoxy around it, but it still barely budges, does this mean I've solder TIM? Cause I don't want to stick a soldering pencil at my CPU

I removed the IHS from a 1.6A and 1.8A but, IIRC, Northwood C's were the first to use epoxy/solder/whatever as the TIM, making it unremoveable. I never even tried with my 2.6C or 3.0C.Originally Posted by Celeron Gamer

you can remove the soldered ihs. you have to heat it up and then lift it slowly. have a look over at hardwareasylum. bbmods showed there how to do it!
