why exactly are you looking for one of these boards? I just dusted off a 3 year old IC7 this weekend. I installed everything but it hangs on post. I had trouble with the comp before, but I couldn't tell if it was CPU or board, now I got a new cpu. I am going to try and isolate with a new PSU. if that doesn't work i am going to toss it and grab a new cheap s478 board. from reviews i think the VIA PT880 (I think) almost as good as the 875/865 boards.

I remember the IC7,-G, and IS7 variants being very good boards. I am in the same boat sorta, I have a 2.6 northie collecting dust, as well as some Twinmos Bh-5s sticks. Want to put it to good use, as this will still be fast enough for most tasks, for my roommate. All she wants is "itunes and my camera hooked up" lol. That should be more than enough.

3.0C northwood running @ 3.6GHz on air for 2.5yrs now. Stable as a rock.

Stupid NB fan will fail on you though, if it hasen't already. I replaced it with the Thermal right NB1 cooler.

I got a Abit Ic7-G Max II... This board is the best board I have ever owned. It has no problems what so ever (except stupid NB fan went out on me.... twice) but other than that its a great board, overclocks like a mofo and stable as anything.

I agree with what has already been said - the board is solid as a rock. With the MadCat fix its even better (board has a hardware bug stopping it working properly above 2.8v VDIMM).

do NOT buy it, ABIT is not making them anymore, I just spent 9 weeks getting a replacement board out of them (they 1st sent 3 bad ones, 4th one worked as it's supposed to)

They downsized and sold all their manufacturing. Really, it seems like they don't have any Quality Assurance or support people left..

Get a new board that is still in production, or at least don't get an Abit.

Oh, ya, I used to love the Max3 also, but, hey, times change..

=( P4C800 is so expensive though... I guess I'm just goin with the MSI? I've got a little bit of time before pickin this up, so I'm gonna make sure this is gonna be something worth the money (for the overclocking practice)

I have the following:

Abit IC7-MAX3, Asus P4C800 and Asus P4P800 E Deluxe, all are excellent boards for O/C, you will find it hard to get a MAX3, but you should pick up a P4C800 and P4P800 E Deluxe without too many problems, especially the latter.
