As i posted before the basic guide over at the majestic site is pretty good for setting up just adapt the guide to your pipe's speed. Other than that i don't think there is anything else obvious to do http://www.majestic12.co.uk/projects...12node/manual/

Can't wait to see what your 30mb pipe could do to this project.

unless, of course, PPPoE rapes it too.

that manual is very useful, albeit a bit dated. but hot damn, my production is definitely on the rise thanks to it

    well done
its definitely safe to up those numbers... i'm running 100 workers and 30 buckets now with <1% errors.
curious thing i've noticed: my upstream and downstream numbers are, in practice, far higher than my ISP says. downstream has been sitting at or well above 4 mbit (its supposed to only be 4 mbit) and upstream frequently goes past 500 kbit (supposed to only be 384 kbit). no complaints here for having a slack0r ISP

mine is archiving almost constantly and uploading nearly as much.

I got MJ-12 installed, but i'm getting a huge amount of errors. Only about 60% are successful, is this normal?

I had a look at the tweaking guide, and i think i need to add more workers (100+) and set my bandwidth usage even higher. Only using about 10% of my bandwidth for MJ-12 and dimes combined.

i think that the latest MJ12 client is erroring exceedingly more than the old one, regardless of the number of workers, so i'd say if successful rates are decent enough (60% isnt bad) then overlook them. MJ12 got a lot more aggressive on timeouts which is probably the cause.

just joined up and started running this yesterday and am having some issues on an uncapped 3mbit DSL connection

basically no matter how many/few buckets and workers I allow, the success rate gradually goes down and doesn't stop until it hits zero

is it my garbage router? I've tried turning off persistent connection and turning Archiving CPU use to idle and Main crawl thread to High but nothing seems to help
