mixing sticks on dual channel mb

If you use two mismatched sticks of ram on a dual channel mobo, say a xms3200c2 (256mb) and a xms3500 (256mb), will the dual channel overclock be the performance of the lesser stick?
So, if one stick will do...450ddr, and one will do 500ddr...will the dual system run at 450ddr????
