    2.72Ghz Conroe, X1900CF @ 712/738 takes AM3 WR on air

Running your system at only 2.72GHz on air (stock Intel heatsink) with stock volts.......how can you put a price on this?

2x ATI x1900 cards in crossfire on stock air at only 712 core/738 mem.....$850

    Stock Intel D975XBX motherboard.....$210

Taking the WR in AM3 away from AMD running with phase on the CPU and GPUs .......priceless

Previous WR: FX60 and 7900GTX SLI at 931/1075....

    holy moly.

I use an a64 x2 cpu, but with this kind of processing power, guess amd is REALLY fu**ed up.

excuse me if i've missed it, but what exactly is holding back further overclocking? I assume it must be the board, but confirmation of the problem would be nice, If we are to believe that there will be a 3.33G Conroe in the near future then surely the chip cannot be crapping out at only 2.7? would just like to know the problem, the benchies are kicking btw...

I doubt AMD will let conroe hold the crown for very long, but it does seem current AMD will get killed by Conroe.
    Again, great results FCG.

I am glad i sold my FX55 BN this past DEC.

I had that thing at 3.4 gighertz and with some balistix ram
    this was on my vapo.
Anyways i got like 120k in aquamark and that was great with my x850xt pe at 620/620 which is now sold lol.

When i come back from iraq in august i will be spending like 3k on a new setup which should blow away my old system.
Hopefully they will have a mobo out that will let us overclock like DFI ultra for amd.

vapochill owners should see at least 4 gighertz with top of the line DDR 2. That means with a good SLI setup we should see 170k+ in aquamark.
I hope ATI releases a new video card by august though.

    LOL! ???

I truly hope AMD has something up their sleeves, but I sure haven't heard anything about it. If these Conroe scores are for real, AMD looks to be in serious trouble.

On the up side, for AMD to survive, they will have to compete. And that's good for all of us

man im pretty psyched about conroes. dont know if i shoudl sell my 3800x2 now and save up or just build a new system. have had all amd my entire life and this would be a good chip to see how the other side is. :p

as far as AMD being in serious trouble, i wouldnt say they are just from one defeat. AM2 is being used as a transition phase to DDR2 and isnt really a fresh core. it'll take some time but i dont see them as being in any serious trouble unless they're future products are crap one after another. cant win every single round.

That is damn impressive. I'd like to see just how much you can beat the old scores by.
