I wonder if it was memory controller, northbridge or core that errored out ? My chip doesn't seem to like dividers other than ddr333 or ddr400, I tested with DDR300 and orthos fails at much lower OC's than with DDR333.

It is true that some MB's don't mesh well with lower dividers and the Opty's memory controller. Did you try running Orthos small FFT's? That stresses the CPU only and should help narrow down possibilites for the culprit.

Ahhh, WTH Here's DUAL DUAL Core Opterons

Excuse the poor benches....NUMA was screwed up. 4x1gb solved the problem though.....Read more about the rig here:

why? what's the diff? i mean, i understand changing the priority forces other apps to wait for orthos versus orthos waiting on apps (when using a low priority), but regardless, the machine runs 100% all the time. why does it matter what the % breakdown between the apps is if the chip's always running 100%? plus, i can't use my machine when it's at priority 9 or 10.

For me, Orthos detects errors after 16h, but in priority 10, after 2h Orthos failed, so now I use priority 10 to find more quickly stability point.

I cut my opteron IHS off and then put AS5 and remount the IHS back and it brought 5 degrees cooler 100% load temps!
I am still at stock cooler and stock volts.

Better use Coretemp to check your temps rather than smartguardian.

So I've got one that I don't see in the charts anywhere:

    CCBWE 0548XPMW

I've had it up to 2860 w/1.4 volts, and a Ninja for cooling. Nothing real serious here Just moved everything over to a DFI Expert, so we'll see what happens over the next few days.

Just got my CCBBE 0617FPMW the other day, oced some yesterday.
Note:Everything is done in closed case, ambient at 19-21 degrees C with a Freezer 64 Pro mounted, HSF on. 7900GTO in action and my old rev2s with the TCCD syndrome... sigh.

Highest bootable setting without giving it more than ~1.55V

    Pi at less then 28s:

40k+ in 3dmark2001... still sucks arse imho :/

    24.5k in 3dmark2003

    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=5221946

Almost 12k in 3dmark05, forgot to screen it
    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm05=2705516

Havent had time to orthostest it a lot yet. About 2934mhz at 1.4V seems pretty stable so far, idle 32, load about 50. Which would be enough for a 24/7 rigg, aint worth it getting +10 degrees loadtemp (around 63ish at core1, HSF mounting sucks) just to have it at 3ghz imho.

Just recieved my new Opty 185 from Komplett (UK) and the stepping looks good!

CCBBE 0615DPMW - they still have a few S939 in stock for £199. Will be upgrading my main WC rig - what is the top end on the 185 ?

I have a 165 with the same stepping and it does over 2.8 with stock vcore and I usually run it 24/7 at 2.97(330x9) 1.475v. It does over 3Ghz but it takes me 1.525v to keep it stable. I think you'll be pleased.
