Tom im really disapointed that you openly RMA modules that have nothing wrong with them, and then openly post this info on a public forum.
2nd thing im disapointed with you regards you openly saying they were not Infineon, which appears that you removed the heatspreader, which means you voided any warranty and yet you still RMA'd them.

    So much for friendly competition?

Well that's a bit exaggerated dont you think

Anyways, just in general; If different (cheaper) chips are used , should prices not drop accordingly then?
Technically no, yeah i get that cause it'll do what it says on the box and so on...., but these memory products are not exactly mainstream, and i can't help to feel a bit screwed after just ordering them for (wait for it...) 283 euro's ex transport here in Holland.

I don't mind paying good money for good products, but 'whatever yields best at the moment goes' is nice for value memory, but not 'top of the line' the most expensive DDR kit OCZ has to offer right ?

And yeah they will probably do what they say on the box, but in all honesty, a bit more is expected, especially after the initial wave of reviews or not ?

Do these chips perform equally good as the genuine infineon chips, at 250, 3-3-2 ?

Well damn, , i dont find this good news at all ...

I got my XP4000 Redlines today. Maximum 3D stable frequency is 260MHz, maximum Windows stable frequency is 265MHz. Anyway, I'm not dissatisfied with these modules, even if they are only average to good. It's just a matter of luck (yield).

I find it funny that someone @ mushkin would abuse RMA privilages...

I have had SEVEN pair of Mushkin ram die... NONE have been used outside the guidelines...

Tony has been nothing but helpful to me, and I know if I have a problem, he will be right there to help me.

My 4000EBs did 265 mhz @ 2.59v, and at 265 mhz I can run 32m faster than someone with pc4000 Redlines at 290 mhz, just because my subtimings are that much more tight...

And that isnt the limit....Thats the limit of my CPU...2920/11.

I do not want to bash any vendors, but I will say this:

    1) Mushkin screwed me on my 350$+ BH5 RMA. They try to downgrade me to TCC5.... Modules that will not even live a day...The TCCD they sent didnt live two weeks.
    2) I have lent mobos to Gskill, and they try to help customers. I hear good things about Gskill RMA from these users here. They only upgrade products that are EOL.
    3) Never had problems with OCZ, and I own alot of ram from them. I also hear good things about OCZ RMA/tech support. They upgrade products that are EOL.
    4) All my Teamgroup DDR2 is top notch, other Team users have said that the Team RMA is a pleasure to work with...

If you are buying 200$+ ram, buy from Gskill/OCZ/Team. Period.
