I think it is coldbugged even under water

It primed all night at 3GHz 1.47v, stop prime and a minute later freeze. So I reboot at 334 HTT, which was fine yesterday, no boot.. back to 333, freeze in windows after a few seconds, so I reboot, start prime as quick as I can, and it's been going 10 minutes. WTF?

Ambient is pretty cool in here, probably 20C so the chip was probably 25C at idle when it froze. If I get another CCBBE 0610 on monday, I might lend you one for a week, but I'd need it back ASAP One needs to go to pay the credit card

edit: keep in mind it could have been my mobo's 338htt limit kicking in early.. I did manage a boot at 334 and I'm priming there now. Just bought a new ultra-d on newegg, hoping it ships from nj and comes tomorrow! Now the trick is to get it in without re-doing the water setup

I'll have a CCBBE here wednesday if that's what Monarch gives me. OEM 165 from Monarch.

I'll test at -70c for a cold bug and let you all know.

    Very interesting.

You say 334 HTT and 25c on the processor bugged? That is identical to my data
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ad.php?t=96016

My CCB1E 165 coldbugged at 333 HTT @ +25c core temps in windows. Locked up at that HTT. Chip does 344 HTT prime-stable on watercooling with 40+c core temps.

I called this - CPUs have a tough time clocking to 3 Ghz on air UNLESS they are coldbugged. The bugged ones are better for air/water.
BTW IF it turns out they are not bugged - they will be the next chip to get! lol... kinda doubt it tho.

PS Stealth- just got my other 165 in from monarch- CCB1E 0608MPMW. Bad for phase I will lend you my CCBBE 0610DPMW if you want, the 0608 seems to be better.

I'm only using an XP-90, so better cooling might produce better results.

I have a TTBT to use and a sythe ninja. I think its about time for this chip to go over to my SLI-DR Expert.
I've got a Zalman CNPS9500 on mine. I'm wanting to see just how high this chip will go so i been bumping it up pretty quickly. I was primeing at over 2700MHz on stock volts but one of the cores errored out when i pushed it to 2800MHz. I set the voltage on my DFI Expert to 1.35v manually without using AUTO or the Special VID so i dont know if that makes a difference or not. I'm running about 1.4V now with Special VID and its primeing away at 2808MHz no problem. I'm hopeing it will hold for a couple of hours and then i'll try for 2900MHz.

Wow thats odd on water. I only needed 1.375 to get 2800 stable. Core 1 is the weak core on mine.

Said screw it, tried priming again at 1.55.

2950 @ 1.500 seems to be the sweetspot. 1.55 only allows me to go to 2980. Not worth the extra temps and volts to get the 30mhz. I bumped it back down to 2900 @ 1.475 for some burning in for a coulpe of days and see if that helps.

Core 1 will go 3 minutes now at 334x9 3006Mhz.

my 0608mpmw did 2.8 stable at just 1.34, but I killed it while trying to take off the IHS. I hit myself everyday for that.

it seems like the 0610 do great on stock voltage and most of them average 2.7 but it scales horribly.

    qft.

They do NOT scale well on volts.

Strange how within steppings, there seems to be a certain core thats bad. 90% of dual cores have bad core 0's, and both of us happen to have bad core 1's

I got a CCBWE 0607UPBW. Does about 2.4ghz with stock vcore. I will put it under the phase though and I expect much better. These chips should scale with volts and cold. Not that good for air/water though
