    3dfx 3D Banshee

I have one of these just pulled from an old machine. This is a beast! No better card for $200 at the time but the TNT series
Here's the thing, I actually need a friend to use it because otherwise hes dead while waiting for RMA of his 6800 that overheats like a mofo.

    Its PCI
I found drivers for windowsxp (shock? on guru)
How would you handle the installation of this oldy, considering I beleive this doesnt support more than DX-6!

And yes, this n00b is serious.

you plug the card in and install drivers, like every other card on the market.

The exception for 3dfx hardware is that it may not install correctly on winxp the first time due to anti-3dfx code in winxp.

The work-around is to uninstall ALL the 3dfx stuff installed after the first installation. This includes stripping out all the xvd's and dll's then performing a search of the registry for all mentions to 3dfx. Reboot, re-install, should work.

All along the watchtower the watchmen watch the eternal return.

I have a 3DFX Banshee 16MB AGP card, I paid £3 for it. It's to use in my Celeron 300A setup.

Superb card in it's day, I can run Quake 3 on it
