my system obliterates those ratings.. i think that was a dumb idea nor do i remember ever getting a survey.. i think a better survey would be the Stress test data that you can upload to steam..

im curious to know if anyone can break 250 or 300 fps @ Max details.

a few things i wonder about after reading those #'s
    a) what kinda cpus are the remaining 4.29% using
    b) is there actually 16" displays? i thought it was either 15" or 17" and i was
really surprise to see that 19" and above are only like 13%.
    c) 60hz??? wtf. the crappy fsc tft i'm sitting in front currently runs something
above 70hz, 72 or 75 iirc. so maybe there's lotsa folks that still don't know
about the 60hz bug of old? how long has that been known now? 3 years at
least, eh? (i mean, there's 88% crt's - so it couldn't be just tfts... doh!)
    d) only 4.53 percent of players use resolutions above 1280?

but if this is some benchmark to compare the gaming power out there, i guess
we'll get lots of different detailsettings for future games and most of us
around here should be good to crank the eyecandy up to whatever is offered

    yay

I dont see why valve would release a benchmark... to tell them what? that someones computer can run xxxfps?

You think that they dont know what thier engine can run? you think they cant figure out how a 3ghz amd with 2gb of ram will run?

Trust me they know how computers run the engine, what they want to see is what computers actually are running the engine. this is one of the most usefull surveys in computer development, every developer in the world should be looking at these, valve should be charging people to see this data. It is the most clear cut view a developer can get on how software runs on an average persons PC.

I remember being asked to participate in this survey several times when logging into Steam. I find the information interesting, although perhaps not that useful to me.
But reading how few actually have CPUs in the same mhz-territory (0,60%) or above as yourself can really pat your ego I guess
