memset965 works but here are some issues

    1)
open the program the first time works fine.
    2)
cose the program and the memory timings reported by cpu-z instantly go to like 10-15-15-30 wierd.
    3)
open memset965 again and the meset timings are 90 missing and only a few show and they are reported way wrong like 7- - - 7- 7 - 11- - -
    4)
enhanced mode i believe is just the turbo mode used in the bios
i tried one of the settings and it locked my system and made a screeching noice come out of the speakers.
    5)
cpu-z on the gigabyte DS3 reports the cAS timings as 3 all the time no matter what you do once you start to overclock the system. If you use memset965 and manually set the cas to what you have it in the bios, cpu-z will now report the setting you set with memset. this is a good thing! but also shows that the DS3 has a faulty memory reading. which we alredy knew.

so far its looking good felix, just need to address the issue of it not reading the memory timings correctly if you close and open the program again. and also address why it causes cpu-z to report really whacky timings if you close memset.

    great job felix!
i'm using an asus p4p800-x (i865) which doesn't have the "performance mode [auto/standard/turbo]" option like the normal p4p800.. do you have any idea if this option could be added into memset? i followed all the timings on my friend's p4p800 using memset but got no gain in performance at all...

    thank you!

dinos22-> not possible to change memory ratio on-the-fly for 9xx chipsets,
perhaps for 865/875,but it's not sure.

Lestat-> is the problem "Close and Open" appear if you run MemSet and cpu-z
in the same time? or also if you run only MemSet?

For "Enhanced mode.." I think that I remove it and replace...

ASTRAL->not possible to add "Performance mode" like P4P800.

    Felix.

happens the problem appears no matter what, open it and its ok.... close it and reopen it and the readings a 90% missing. and 4 show but they are 7----7---7--------63---reserved

    enhanced mode.
if you look at the description doesnt it look like some sort of bank interleaving ??
the names in the settings almost seem like interleaving or some sort of enhanced bank cycle.

the only way to make memset read the correct timings again is to reboot your pc.

    felix also.
memset for 915 chipset,, i love it it works great on my Dothan laptop.
have you ever played around making a FSB tool ?

For enhanced mode, the exact description is:
-Swap enabled for Bank Selects and Rank Selects.
    -reserved.
-Swap enabled for bank Selects only.
    -reserved.
But if settings differents that default setting make the system lock,
    I prefer to remove it...

For the problem "close and open",it seem that MCHBAR register is not
unlocked the second time you run MemSet,but I don't know why .?.?
    I'll try to fixe that.

For FSB on Laptop,I don't know the process to do that, and I not the time
to learn it...I make MemSet,that's enough for me.

When you close MemSet by "Exit" button MCHBAR is locked,
if you close by X,MCHBAR stay unlocked,it's the reason why cpu-z
report 10.15.15.31 when you close by "Exit".
    I think that it's a problem with cpu-z,because this problem don't appear
    with 975 chipsets or others.
    I'll ask at the author...

you can take this new beta version:

    MemSet22beta.zip

It works on all chipsets (845<->975).
It's a beta version again, because there is a lot of change
    between 2.1 version.

I add a checkbox "Auto" in SubTimings for 9xx chipsets :
    in fact,when you change #Cas , #Ras to #Cas , #Ras precharge,
    some SubTimings also automaticaly change.
It's allow you to change timings "like the bios",I think that it's better
for most stability, especially for "read delay" and "#CS to MCH..."
This checkbox is checked by default when you run MemSet.
Note that #Ras to #Cas read an write change in same time if this chekbox is checked.
uncheck it if you want personal timings...

It seem that some motherboard don't accept a second access in mchbar,
it's the raeson that when you re-open the soft, timings is "-7.7.7-----63---"
and it's probably the same when cpu-z read "10.15.15.31"
Perhaps fixe with next update of bios...? Wait and see.

Tell me if you find (possible) bug or problem with this version.

    Perhaps I'm missing something, but...
All I have in my BIOS is X-X-X-X and then one more I forget the name.

Obviously all these timings still exist, but they are settable in Windows?

Would there be a way to somehow add something to startup, not that opens the window, but just sets the timings? I'm a big believer in 24/7, practical, stable overclocks... not Clockgen type apps.

Still very cool though. Makes up for crappy RAM settings on P5W (or, I hope, haven't tried it yet... kind of worried, honestly, A64Tweaker messed up my BIOS chip).

Andrew the P5W dH only allows fo the MAJOR settings.
the SPD takes care of all the rest.

most people wont need to mess with all thos eother times.
you can adjust them with this program though. which is really cool!

    Felix THANK YOU!!

I still have problem running Memset on my laptop (Asus M6VA), i915PM, 2*512 (infineon + kingston). When the program is executed it crashes/freeze or BSOD and then restart immediately . I tried different versions and I have it in Program files. RMMA works fine there, but I can change just RCD, RP, RAS (no CL and other stuff). It would be great help to hypermemory .

On my desktop PC i915G Asus P5GD1-VM runs smoothly.

    Great program
    PC: P4E 3.0GHz (1MB cache) / Asus P5GD1-VM (i915G) / 2*512 MB DDR Kingmax (400; 2-3-3-1) / x800GTO Fireblade 12 ppl ( 400/980@560/1240) / Seagate 80GB (SATA, 7200 rpm, 8MB cache, NCQ) / Maxtor 20GB (UltraATA 133, 7200 rpm, 2MB cache) / onboard soundcard (7.1) / Eurocase 350W PSU
    NB: Pentium M 750 1.86GHz (2MB cache) / chipset i915PM / 2*512 MB DDR2 (533; 4-4-4-12; kingston + infineon) / x700 128MB + 128MB HyperMemory / Hitachi (UltraATA 100, 5k4 RPM, 8MB cache) / DualStereo

ok i just realized that this DOES allow you to apply settings at startup
though im not sure if you mean just putting a shorcut in the startup folder, which still works i guess, but itd be handy to have a 'silent mode' that just ran in a cmd window or invisibly at windows startup/logon.
