Yes.
okay a little progress.i still get the error, installation failed.
however,i can click on the memset.exe and the program pops up,but it does not display the whole windows.it seems cut off,and i have to scroll the bar sideways or up and down to see all the values in the boxes.
here is a couple pix describing what i mean
...Nice bug!
What is your OS?and your screen resolution?
Can you try this version:
http://rv.page.cegetel.net.perso.ceg...t/MemSet11.zip
hi felix.os is xp pro sp2
screen resolution is 1680x1050
i will try that version
Excellent tool!
I've a problem though, not sure if anyone else has the same. If I exit memset it likes to change my timings to something nasty like 6-3-2-31. If I restart memset all is well and it will revert back to the 4-3-2-8 that I set it to originally. Not a major problem as I can always leave it open, but it means that I can't use the "save" feature to automatically set my timings for me. Ah yeah, the save is funny too i think - it doesn't save the timings I tell it to. Otherwise a superb and highly recommended program. Thanks! This is on an Aopen i975xa-ydg btw...

...if you change your timings(for example 3.3.3.8->4.4.4.10) is cpu-z
indicate the same?
Yep, i'm using cpu-z to verify the timings and yes they do change correctly in cpu-z (apart from the cas latency which as you know can cause problems). If I exit memset though they change in cpu-z. It only just occured to me that it might be a cpu-z bug, i'll have to benchmark it and see.
Here's some screenies to show. My bios boots at 4-3-2-12 so i like it changed to 4-3-2-8, if i set the timings I want everything is fine:
But if I then exit memset the timings in cpu-z instantly change:
If I re-open memset the timings go back to what i had set before, even without clicking "apply". The more I think about it the more it looks like a cpu-z bug rather than memset - i'll try and verify it later when I have time. Hmm... when it does it though, clockgen also will not report the ram timings and will grey out the fsb slider.

Hi everyone. Nice tool, but it doesnt work at dual channel. I am with this motherboard(i865PE). When I put 2 DIMMs, the PAT doesn't actually work. CPU-Z shows that it is turned on, but actually it is not (there is no memory read acceleration). The FSB is normal(200mhz). Does anyone know what may the problem be?
When I put 2 plates of ram, the tool doesn't work. If i try to turn the PAT on from the BIOS, the PC doesn't boot even with timings 3-4-4-8(we are talking about ddr400), even with 2.8 Vdimm . But when there is one DIMM module, it starts without a problem, and the PAT works(there is memory acceleration). Why doesn't it boot with 2 dimms with PAT? The plates are exactly the same.
P.S. I am with the last BIOS for this MB.
Can someone suppose what's wrong?

Nice
Ill test it...
is it possible to update the program to include Trc AKA Bank Cycle time as reported by CPU-Z 1.34.1?
For the 975 chipset (P5WD2-E Prem)
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I don't find tRC in Chipset registers,but if I find,it will do.
It doesn't work with my laptop. It has 915G chipset..
What is the problem?
I'm sorry Felix..it works fine now.It was windows problem..very nice program!
awesome app. felix works in vist beta 2 as well!

I didn't know that MemSet run under Vista,it's an excellent news!
I upgrade MemSet for 2.0 version:
MemSet20.zip
Screen on the first post of this thread.
-Interface was changed for all chipsets, and I add a little GroupBox
with system informations.
-Some bugs was corrected.
Note that "memory" panel reporte the memory configuration of your chipset,
not the specification of the SPD.
Reporte me a bug please.

Thank you for the update. MemSet has been a big help to me and many others.
Does it already works with i955 ?!

very nice
Thanks for the great tool dude. Don't suppose you will add DRAM latency parameter for 865/875 chipsets?
