The problem with Bar_Edit V3.0 and loading settings at system startup is solved with the help from SoLoR.
I didn't install Bar_Edit to the default location. It puts BAR_Save in the Bar_Edit folder and not to the ROOT. I moved the BAR_Save folder to the ROOT and now it loads the settings at system startup.
Hi folks!
Yesterday I tried to install Memset4 on my Windows 7 partition. It didn´t work at all.
Is there an issue to make memset4 working on W 7?

Nope, it works perfectly on Windows 7 for me.
What kind of problem are you having?
Shame on me. Memset4 is pretty good working on Windows 7. I just forgot to change the custom text size settings on default. That´s why memset4 refused to start.

New CPU-Tweaker version: CPU-Tweaker 1.1
-Enable change timings on Core i7 CPU with GygaByte and eVGA motherboards.
(Memory Configuration space are locked in the bios on others motherboards).
-Add some Uncore and QPI multi on Core i7.
-Fixe a bug with HT and UnCore multi on K10 in DDR2 533 & DDR3 mode.
-Increase reading some timings (tWR, tRTP, tFAW) on Core i7.
Is that lock something that can be dealt with? Or are the rest of us with different X58 boards out of luck for good? Thanks for all the work, amazing how quickly the software progresses.
I´m wondering about same thing.
OK, I made a post about it 2 week ago, but all is erasing:
They are two bits which lock the Memory Configuration Space access in Core i7:
One is named MEM_CFG_USER_LOCKED (Bus:255, Dev:0, Fct 0, OffSet:88 bit[1])
and the other MEM_CFG_LOCKED (Bus:255, Dev:0, Fct 0, OffSet:88 bit[0]).
Both are Read Only bits, but MEM_CFG_USER_LOCKED bit can be unlocked under Win
by setting at 1 the bit: Bus:255, Dev:0, Fct 0, OffSet:90 bit[1].
-On eVGA MBoards, both are unlocked.
-On GigaByte MBoards, only MEM_CFG_USER_LOCKED bit is locked, so simply writing
in Bus:255, Dev:0, Fct 0, OffSet:88 bit[1] and it's OK.
-On AsusTek MBoards, MEM_CFG_LOCKED bit is locked: I can't do nothing.
-On others MBoards, both are locked and I can't do nothing too.
So, two solutions:
-First, MBoards bios engineers can simply unlock MEM_CFG_LOCKED and a bios update will fix the problem.
-Second, a bios mod, but we don't know how to unlock MEM_CFG_LOCKED for now; perhaps at next.

Felix,
on my Rampage II Extreme with BIOS 1306, it seems that I am able to change memory timings with Cpu-tweaker 1.1. I checked with everest, cpu-z and cpu-tweaker itself and they confirm the change.
I am not so convinced because the CAS Latency is displayed as 4, quite impossible...
I noted that I resumed after an S3 stand-by and I have a Xeon W3520.
As soon as possible I will reboot the system to see if the memory timings are unlocked from a cold boot too.
could you make a registers dump (with cpuz->last table->registers.txt)
and send it at memset@hotmail.fr
Thank.
I confirm my suspects.
After a cold or warm boot, the memory is locked.
After a resume from S3 stand-by, probably due to a wrong restore of registers, the memory is unlocked but CAS is indicated as 4. After a normal startup, CAS is 8, as programmed in BIOS.
I am sending anyway the registers dump after resume from S3 state.
I knew this problem with Cas# (also tWR) and resume from S3, but I didn't know that it affected the unlocked bits also.
Thank.
i just want to ask why i cant adjust memory timings of foxconn bloodrage in memset & cpu tweaker?
can u please include support in the next version?
thanks in advance

Hi Felix
Just received this BIOS this morning. Looks like there's a chance that DFI can be added to the list of boards that work with CPU-Tweaker with the next BIOS release. Below are before and after screenshots.
Yup 4/28 adds cpu tweaker support!
Change Log:
1. CPU Tweaker support
2. Tweak and improved 3 channel A/B/C Round Trip Latency
timing and clock skew for Elpida modules
3. COMS table has been reassigned due to additional timing
items so previously saved CMOS Reloaded profiles will not work.
*** DO NOT load previously saved profiles!!!!! ***

Great news.
Hope that others manufacturers will do the same at next.
Note that it's possible to change Round Trip Latency with CPU-tweaker too,
but first you need to choose a channel (A or B or C); this value is different for each channel.
Yeah we've been playing with RTL alot lately at http://i4memory.com/f80/dfi-ut-x58-t...cussion-16970/ so great to have a new nice and cpu tweaker support!

Thanks for the program Felix, is awesome!
Just a question... why I cannot find a combo for the DDR3 tRC, pls? I'm using the DFI X58 with the pre-beta bios you mentioned.
thx.
Im sure this has been covered already....but I haven't been able to download the new betas for over a week now.
=>jogshy: tRC is not indicate in Intel X58 datasheet.
=>Goldenatom: Yes, I need to make some maintenance on my website , but 1.2 beta coming soon.
FELIX: you shoul e-mail those mobo makers to add support
