Yes it is....we'll see soon if it can reach that speed....someone really needs to come up with a Vcore mod that allows for higher than 1.64V. This cpu seems to be more limited now by vcore as opposed to FSB.....Originally Posted by NiCKE^

Ok, tested the cpu last night on my autocascade and I've learned something new.....-80C insulation doesn't work too well @ -100C temps I'll have to do some more insulation before trying again since the board is acting up. FWIW, I reached 295x13 for a short bit before the board locked up and didn't want to boot again ~-103C IDLE temps, -102C LOADED
I thought your Auto was running -150° now or something? Hurry up and insulate that rig properly
Those temps were for for fun (It actually made it down to -162C). With a decent capacity, the numbers will have to be quite different. The temps I reported in my last post are from an probe in the cold plate on top of the core. Actual evap temps should be ~-115C....Originally Posted by G H Z
Nice CPU mate
Now get rid of that autocascade and get some LN2 for the sucker - 4ghz yonah action, common
EDIT: GAH I need a new mobo, but this freakin' contry still havnt got them, GHZ's past me in 01SE - last time I looked I was LAST on front page, now this sucks

Oh...just remembered.....I wasn't @ -100+C when I saw teh 295FSB...I forgot had actually turned the cooling head off. IIRC, temps on the cold plate were ~-48COriginally Posted by M.Beier

Last night, I found that I didn't have any more Ceramique left so I ended up running the yonah without re-insulating the board as I had originally planned - BAD IDEA I ended up spending the entire night pulling my hair out trying to figure out wtf was causing the cpu to act so erratic. I messed with timings, voltages, memory slots, etc. - everything I could think of but I was only able to manage a few completed Spi runs @ NOWHERE near the cpu's top speed :
Evap temps @ ~-115C IDLE, ~-114C LOAD
These runs were basically done a couple of minutes before I shut down for the night. As I reached around the autocascade to turn the unit off, I noticed what had been causing my frustration for the last couple of days .....
This wasn't just a thin layer of frost -> rather it was a SOLID chunk of ICE that took ~5 minutes to melt with a hair-dryer on the "HIGH HEAT" setting . Luckily the hardware seems to be in good condition still, so hopefully I'll be able to get in a few nice runs sometime this weekend. The cpu's got quite a bit more left in her - this was done earlier in the night, most likely when that iceberg was still in it's infancy
4ghz is within reach
300FSB!!
Congrats

Amazing stuff Stephen. I got an "iceberg" as well in exactly the same spot... I don't think it caused me any trouble since I sorta always ran with some ice in various spots.
Now, isn't it nice to move to a platform where lower temps get you a higher FSB rather than a lower one? (HTT)
LOL...this wasn't any ordinary iceberg, this one could have sunk the Titanic as well . Stuck a hair -dryer on it and it basically didn't start melting for a good 2-3 minutes. I have a feeling it was wreaking havoc on my Vcore as it was all over the place (even for the Aopen). Also, I have a feeling it had something to do with my problems with the setup on my last boot attempt. Basically, I opened up clockgen and tried to set the FSB. Well, somehow the cpu clocked DOWNWARDS and was stuck @ 1700Mhz no matter what I did. I tried the Aopen OC utility but the FSB wouldn't budge and upon re-opening clockgen, ALL the OC buttons were gone only the "Clocks" button was available.......Originally Posted by Gautam
Congratulations !!!
Stephen, you finally overtook my T2600 WR, 300fsb is a hell of an achievement. The most impressive is to it with a single compressor cooling, where mine needs three to work
One more time :
Well done stephen....keep this toy..i am comming to catch you over there....
When Mercedes brought their C111 to Talledega years ago and blew away the closed course record did it count? Yes..
That was a "factory" car and a "one of" that no one could buy and was never sold.
Records are records and that is a fact so get over it.
Thanks my friend, but this cpu is nothing if it can't run @ these speeds. Yours is a gem, especially considering that you hadn't even done the vcca modOriginally Posted by Tyrou
