    Question Joining 2 x PCI-E Connectors

    Hey Guys,

    My current benching system consists of -

    FX60 @ 3.45Ghz 1.55V
    Saphire X1900 XTX 680 \ 900 limited by PSU
    2 x BH-5 @ 26? 3.4V
    PC&P 850SSI
    Mach 2 GT (Stock)

    My problem is I get system resets running 3D at higher overclocks than the one above!!! I believe its the psu's ovp kicking it on the pci-e channel of the psu!!!

    ATItool reports the X1900XTX as using 26.5a when at 700 \ 900, can the amperage info supplied by ATItool be trusted?

    Would it be safe to connect both PCI-E connectors together to create 1 channel with 32a max power instead of 16a?

    you could if they are split internally... but it may cause the PSU to short out as well if the rails have a voltage differential.

    All along the watchtower the watchmen watch the eternal return.

    Well that 3.4v for your BH-5 is harsh on your 3.3v rail.. I don't trust software readouts on voltage.. Run by radio shack and pickup a multimeter. Their cheap and give you acurate readouts.
    Main Rig ---> E6700, Biostar TForce 965PT, 2x512 Micron D9's, Custom Watcooling, 520w OCZ Powerstream
    Rig 2---> P4 640 @ 4GHz, DFI LanParty 875P-T, 512MB crap, Sunbeam NUUO 550w
    My Old Rig --->2.4AE @4.15GHz , semi Stable, yes 1.75GHz OC ...

    I REALLY dont belive your PSU is having problems.

    but why shouldent you be abel to do so? We all do it with the 4 pined molex 12 volt.

    But STEvil proberly knows what he is talking about.
