    Saw this headline:

'Unknown' Athlon runs at 2.314 GHz...

Actually, I believe the board they are using the 8K3A+ and is the exact same screenshot that Kurupt sees everytime he boots his machine at 2158 and cpu as unknown.

Yes, if you look further up in the thread, you will see Unknown CPU 2158 which is actually 2166 if you boot into windows and run CPUID. Actually, his machine can boot up much higher than 2166 with more voltage but loses L2 cache with more than 2.00V. 2.10V will get him in the mid to high 2200s with total stability in windows but, no SSE, 64K of L2 and identified as an Duron.

I wonder if that d00d has any drives connected. Or even anything more than a graphics card and a stick of RAM.
The only way to have real success in science ... is to describe the evidence very carefully without regard to the way you feel it should be. If you have a theory, you must try to explain what's good about it and what's bad about it equally. In science you learn a kind of standard integrity and honesty.

Looking at the screenie I don't think he even has a floppy attached to it and my guess is that CPU is an 2100+ on the Palo core with the FSB running at 166MHz and above.

yes this was posted on OCAU a while ago..and was decided on that it was a palo and not a tnred..one reason the 2.2 vcore...
i dont think you should need that much for a tbred to reach 2166mhz...
