    Asus P5N32 + Bios 308 + Presler 955XE

    DOES IT WORK?

    Anyone already tried this?

Would be the first SLI mobo that got 955XE cpu working

    its working OK
but its difficult to overclock on such a mobo

and the Gigabyte quad SLi is another Nforce SLi mobo that works ok
with the XE955 (poor o/cer too though)

imho i think its a shame to waste such a cpu on such a board

i think slacker is right, the 955 works with new bilos 0308 on the P5N32-Sli deluxe but upto now i've only have been able to get fsb @ 290. Tried changing the mutly and now luck(i change it in bios and back to 13 when system boots). unless they do some real bios work this pressler isnt' going to OC to good on this board. I'll continue doing some tests on it today and hopefully have new info on the P5n32Sli and the 955 XE

    Hi guys,

I've currently got a Pentium D 930 and im having trouble overclocking on this board... just wondering if u guys know where i could lock the sata ports because dats wat seems to cause me problems.

I've gotten it to boot @ 3.7ghz but everytime i restart i have to reset the settings. It was SuperPi 1m,8m and 32m stable but seems like i come close to corrupting my sata ports everytime i oc.

Temps arent a problem as ive got good airflow and am on water cooling... Can anyone help me with my problem?

Hmm, but without raising the fsb 955XE works 100% stable, right?

That would be all i need 955XE has unlocked multiplier so i don´t need high fsb....

I´m running right now p5wd2-e with x1900 crossfire and happy with it, but in case some quad-sli cards show up i want to be ready with the p5n32

maybe after they put out the non beta bios where they address the problem of not being able to change the multiplier. As of now i cant change the multiplier with this beta biois. another thing i noticed is that the vcc either it's not being read correctly by the mobo or it'd not being set to the right value when you choose a value in the bios or using ai boost. will do some further tests tomorrow (hopefully) and supply some more info. but as of now it seems to work correctly @ stock speeds. actually iv'e had mine working fine @ 3.7

What happens if you change multiplier? Freeze? Not taking it?

    Man that sucks.

Nvidia is just not to work work with Intel in solving this.

Why does Nvidia even bother to release new motherboards for Intel CPUs?

Now it seems like if we want to use Nvidia SLI we have to use AMD CPUs.

Whereas for Crossfire we can choose either AMD or Intel.

With the latest beta bios 955EE does work... u just cant change the multiplier and dont expect much of an overclock as well...

I'm currently thinking of jumping ship and going to the Asus P5WD2-E Premium and switching to Xfire X1900... already sold my 7800 SLI setup.
