russia has a very strong team, i say there the team to beat.

I really wasnt surprised by either the US or Canada losing, they just dont have the talent that some of the other countries, like Russia, Sweden, and the Czech Republic have anymore. What dissapointed me was the Slovaks losing to the Czech Republic, but their goaltending is suspect, so its not really a surprise.

Thanks mate! My grandma is Danish, so be sure I'd return the cheers were the settings opposite.

I'm ashamed of and very disappointed in my government though for not giving our Danish brethren our support when it comes to the JP business...

The goali has somehow always been the Slovaks problem, course the players are great.

No problem, you Swedes always kept neutral in cases of diplomacy and war, so it's the way it's meant to be.
You do your part somehow, you did hide judes under II WW, it is important that some stay out of trouble as an example.

hold up we got the talent still.....but yes we got stomped this time round. our team was just not working well with each other, but no excuses.
russia has mad skill, but im kinda cheering for the sweeds because of mats sundien.

I really think the problem (for US and Canada team) is because players are paid professionnal... They are more interrested in tourism than win medal.

actually all of the players on most of the teams are professional athletes. most of the swedish team are NHL players, much of the Czech team is, half of the Russian team is and it would be more except that they wanted their team to be half local talent. Regardless, I would say that atleast 95% of the players in the tournament are paid professional athletes in the Elite leagues of the European countries. Many countries in Europe have 2 or 3 professional leagues, such as England, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, Kazahkstan, and many others.

regardless, the NHL is very well represented in all of the teams in the olympics.

    GO CZECH!!!

In the main group we played like absolute horse crap, then we subbed our goalie (Hasek injured, Vokoun out of form), mixed the lines up and we're going strong.

Even in our loss against canada, the last third we played well.

We are in Semi's, beating ownagenerrs Slovakia

This is going exactly as I have foreseen (muahaha). I have a running bet with my housemate about the outcome of men's hockey. The prize is a pack of cookies.

This is our guess for the interested:

    # Him | Me

    1 Russia | Finland
    2 Sweden | Russia
    3 Slovakia | Sweden

Only 28 hours and 10 minutes left before the next game

Nothing personal, Peter Forsberg is my #1 hero (in NHL Breakaway '98 for the N64 , good memories)
Even worse though, I just found out my prediction is impossible lol.

    1 Finland
    2 Russia
    3 Sweden

Can NEVER happen, as Finland meets Russia in the semifinals
    Damn I feel stupid

So the finals will be between Sweden and (hopefully for me) Finland. That way I have the best chance of still winning my cookies
If Finland looses however, Sweden MUST win, so we both guess completely wrong.

Canada did get whooped in this year's olympics, too bad. It was nice having gold for the last 4 years though!

Good luck to all the remaining teams, all I want to see now is some good hockey.

A man down for 4 min. is not easy against highly skilled players as the Czechs, but that goal after they got their man back was exellent.
