SP 1M, 32M run with Newark 4000+ on water

Not to bad for socket 754 . I can run a 1M test with 1T memory timings, but to get a stable 32M run I need to use a 2T rate. Anyone know that socket 754 pi records? This chip may still have some more in it.

Great Job! These TForce 6100 BioStar boards are really unbelievable mobos. I'm curious;what motherboard did you have before the BioStar, and what was your higest oc then?

DFI NF3 UT, and I was running the chip on air 2.9 stable 3.1 suicide with a max FSB of around 270. I swapped to the Biostar for its pci-e slot and I had heard it was better then the DFI UT NF3. I have noticed that my biostar can handle a similar FSB around 270, my vcore adjustment overvolts with the T-Force. It basically jumps from these settings:

    1.50v bios = 1.52v
    1.55v bios = 1.64v
    1.60v bios = 1.68v
    1.65v bios = 1.74v
    1.70v bios = 1.78v

This works out really well because at a bios vcore of 1.6 the chip is 32M stable at 3.22ghz. I think the DFI could run similar scores but the Biostar boots everytime with these settings and seems to be a better match then the DFI which had the occassional boot error.

Does this board have the Overclocking features of the 250Gb? Or do I have to do extensive volt mods to get the potential out of this mobo? You say this board has no trouble booting up every time? As my 250Gb, even at stock settings will get the dreaded "Detecting RAID Array" Screen every once in a while (that's with every genie bios setting set manually with what I would call loose/stable timings).

If it's all that it's cracked up to be, I might just pick up one of these and see how much further I can take this little newark.

This motherboard is much better then my old DFi NF3 250. There are no weird quirks, has something called watchdog which will boot to default settings if you have set to aggresive of settings in the bios. It has Vcore up to 1.8V. without vmods. Vdimm up to 3.7V. if you have adjustable pots,3.2v. if not. 15 memory settings in bios. Cmos reloaded. Memtest built into bios. Sanyo Caps for better voltage regulation.

I've owned 5 motherboards, and played with ~15 motherboards on the 754 platform, and this is the best by far.

I agree, this is probably the best s754 board out there for overclocking ability plus you get decent integrated video. It is priced at 68$ which is amazing because it can definetly compete with some of the better 939 boards. I liked my DFI NF3, but the Biostar is the best board I have owned so far.

Will this board boot my Newark every time as well? It's almost worth it just so I don't have to see that damn "Detecting IDE RAID" Screen any longer.

I know the 4000+ have the superior E6 memory controller, but I'm hoping I can get more stability out of this chip, and you're right, for $68 it's a steal...

It should boot everytime, I have yet to see a detecting array screen or anything like that. Best mobo for the price, this board is super stable and reliable. I am still on the beta bios and it is overclocking so well I don't even need to update.

Awesome news, Newegg is doing a deal right now for a T-6100 and a Sempron, so I'll have a cheap little clocker to throw into the nF3 250Gb and maybe give it to someone. I'll wait for refund check to return, and get this board and a X1900XT(X) to hold me over until M2 or possibly DFI SLI-DR Venus if I can get my hands on one.

Killer clocks man. Does your newark show any signs of slowing down?

It looses almost all stability after 3.23ghz, it is running very hot with a 1.7 v core, idle of 34 load of 45. As long as it is under 50C it seems to at least boot. As soon as I try and super pi it overheats and stalls. This may be the highest I can take it on water, maybe another 50-100 mhz max, but defiently not stable enough to bench or anything.

Again, nice job. The newest ClockGen 1.0.4.1 works with this mobo,so you might find it easier to oc with it instead of the BioStar software.

One last question for you guys before I take the plunge. Does this board require a bios update to get the full utilization outta this chip? Or will the shipping bios work great with it.

One thing I really like about this 250Gb, is the Diamond Flash Image which made it really easy to flash to a new bios. I didn't have to type out the .bin file or anything like that, it was completely automated and left me feeling secure that for the most part user error wouldn't kill my board.

Is there something similar on there Tforce boards? Or am I going to have to go the traditional route if and when I would need to flash the bios to a later date.

I'm also not a fan of flashing the bios within the OS and would be much more comfortable booting from a floppy/cd/flash drive then doing it on the windows desktop...

Thats another great thing about this motherboard. You can use WinFlash,or the supplied flashing within windows program,or the old way with the floppy. If thats not enough,if you fubar your bios flash,(power outage)theres always a back-up default just in case.

*EDIT* BTW I've found this bios works the best for me. I've tried them all.

Awesome, Thanks OIC. I should have this board by mid-next week. I'll post back with some results once I get it.

I'd also like to know what these chips can do under atleast a single stage cascade. Since these chips have been pretty popular for the last 6 months, I'm suprised I haven't seen any results under such cooling. If only I knew what I was doing with the likes of DI or LN2 I would do it...

Do I dare venture a guess of 4+ GHz with LN2?

Board has been ordered along with a 2800+ Sempron...

Should be here by wednesday next week. I'll post back with results once I get it all setup.

By the way, are you guys both using the onboard video on this board, or are you using a PCI-E video card? If you're using the onboard video, how does it handle DX8.1 games? If you don't mind me asking.

Makes me want to keep my 754 alive and get a 4000+ newark.. question is, will I need to go to a pci-e based to get higher clocks?

Well I'm coming from nF3 to essentially nF4, with the same chip. So once I get everything up and running I'll let you guys know my results. I'm very anxious to get it all up and running though, as from what I'm hereing this board seems to do miracle work...

I can then also upgrade to a faster video card and have a nice gaming machine to last me for atleast another year.
