    CPU Fan Recommendations?

Sup g's, I have the swiftech 370 (great heatsink IMO) but the bloody fan is too loud! Does a quiet and useful cpu fan exist? I hope so I'm being driven mad with the constant humming ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I dont have money to get into watercooling, but I wish I did. Thanks!

ThermalTake Smart CaseFan II is a good choise because it has a pot attached to it so it can be adjusted to your liking from a quiet 2000RPM up to a rip roaring 5000 RPM which I believe pushes 75CFM :s

    Not expensive either

Is that heatsink for 60MM or 80MM fans? Of course there are fairly quiet solutions for each....& what size/cfm fan do you currently have?

Don't 370s take 60 mm fans? What kind do you have on there now? If I had to guess, I'd say a Delta 38 if it's bothering you.

Papst makes a very good 33cfm 60mm fan, but it's hard to find. I have heard that Delta makes a 30 cfm 60mm fan that's not to bad, but may also be hard to find. I would try some of the better "Cooling" vendors for a 60mm fan that's 28-32 cfm. That should still cool pretty well, bt be a bit easier on the ears.

Yup, I use one of those and can recommend it. Very quiet up to about 3000rpm which is what I normally run it at. 75cfm is only required for the 3dMark benchies.

You can get adapters that let you mount 80mm fans on 60mm HS's, never tried one but it sounds like a good idea.

If you can wait, the SLK-900 is on its way, and it will take a 92mm fan stock, so you can put a quieter fan with better flow than an 80mm or 60mm. Just my 2 cents there.

Wow, that's some major air-cooling! 110CFM with the stock fan! And 15% heavier than the SLK-800, no wonder they've finally gone for the mounting holes.

Cheers for the heads-up, didn't know about that one.

i say just buy one of those manually adjustable enermax fans. That way you can make it as quiet as you want. =)

cleoent, if you live in the US, svc has some decnent prices on fans and heatsinks. i'd go for the 24CFM YS-Tech.

anyway, 60mm fans aren't very good at moving air and being quiet. you may want to look into a better heatsink that uses 80mm fans. svc has the SK7 for $19.99. it'll take 80mm fans, and it's a pretty good performer.
