You're gonna kill the chip if you're messing with 2 volts and turning the single stage on and off. I have a CAB2E chip as well, the cold bug is terrible, i have ACPI multiprocessor installed but it just makes load temps slightly hotter. Basically these chips don't work on single stage.

the acpi multiprocessor driver forced my 148 to 100% load temps while idle. so it would be worth a shot. as for the high vcore

You should do the multiprocessor tweak and other than that you can run super pi 32m or prime test at the background to heat up the cpu rather than giving it 2 volts. You would burn it up quickly otherwise

I tried my cab2e 148 under phase too, couldnt boot at any speed. acpi multiprocessor might help a little bit if you are just benching but prob is not good enough for 24/7 op.

I dont think ACPI multiprocessor will help enough. Even with ACPI on, full loading, and 1.6 volts, my temps only got to 0C and i can't even clockgen to 3.0 Ghz before it locks up.

Bottom line: most of these CAB2Es need very positive temps. I think the SS is a waste of time on them. Someone in a different thread said his CAB2E bugged out at +14C core (started locking up prematurely). So these aren't good for much more than watercooling /crappy waterchilling.
