News: 7800GT and 6800GS to be beafed up with 512GDDR

Gainward going to release 512MB versions of 7800GT and 6800GS. There will be 1.4ns chips which can give up to 1430MHz. Price still unknown but it won`t be cheap.

    UPDATE

The INQ got their hands on Gainward BLISS7800GT Geforce 7800GS 512. Check out this review. Apparently no OCing were done, but it surely can be nice purchase for decent price

First and For most 512MB of Graphics Ram will not help in Gaming.. SO I see no reason for it unless you really love AutoCad

Sure, but the faster RAM will help a lot with higher resolutions and high AA/AF settings.

And enough memory for uncompressed textures will improve image quality.

Good point.. Plus it will give you a little more room to overclock the Cards
But I think the Premium they are going to tack on Defeat the Highier Overclock..
Odds are the 6800GS 512 would cost about as much as a Plain 7800Gt (which would perform better when overclocked)
and the 7800Gt 512 would cost more than the 7800Gtx... Just a thought

Getting the 7800GT world record with these, would be a walk in the park.

Well, if you understood that these graphic processors can be programmed as super fast general purpose processors, then you would understand why more memory is important. i.e. memory is where the program and data are stored...duh.

Well everyone should be polite.. just because someone attacks you doesn't give you the right to attack them.. Just drop it and let a Mod talk to them about their misbehavior and if they don't listen they wont come back.. SImple as that

Thread has been edited. Lets play nice. WTF is not a curse, its of regular use on the forums iq, so my apologies if you read it the wrong way.

    And ofcourse, To the Forums

Now if only ATI would put some GDDR3 on the X1300 or X1600PROs...even the slowest gddr3 would give them a boost in games and benchmarks, and with a boost low enough not to threaten the X1600XT, but good enough to increase sales.

    DDR2 is the suck.
