    New DIMES Rig!

Ok that's not really why I built it but I'm still going to run a bunch of VMs on it for DIMES.

    Specs:
    (2) Intel Xeon M0 2.4Ghz @ 3.8Ghz
Asus PC-DL (vcore & vdimm modded by Jeff)
    ATI Radeon X850 XT
    OCZ Platinum EB PC4000 2GB 2X1GB
    (2) 74GB Raptors in Raid 0
PC Power and Cooling Turbo-Cool 510 XE Deluxe

Very nice looking rig there. I love the way water cooling looks with two processors(and all the aluminum).

With 2Gb I have my server running 14 VMs with dedicated memory(no swapping) in VMware. Works very good and leaves about 300Kb free for server applications. Not sure what else you are going to run but I found that dedicating memory for the VMs eliminates lag. I don't mind the lag in my crunchers but my main rig would sometimes get bogged down with all the swapping that goes on.

    Again, very nice setup!

Thanks. If you aren't using dedicated memory in VMWare does it reduce your points?

I used dedicated memory in my 3 gig VM Server. It runs 24 VMs with no virtual swapping. No lag.. Runs great. Usually, with no lag and the VMs optimized with the correct memory, you wont see a loss in points. Sometimes, you may even gain more.

    Nice rig dude!

Nice rig hellheim. Is that gonna fold rosetta also, or purely server/dimes? The VIP needs firepower. What speeds are they gonna run @?? 4ghz? Higher?

The fastest I can get it and still run cinebench is 3917Mhz. Runs at 3951Mhz for general stuff but I get errors running cinebench. Running prime on it right now at 3.9Ghz and so far no errors.

Maybe more volts would help. Thats a crazy system there hellheim. Soon its gonna be time to change those waterblocks out for ones with pelts. Then the 24/7 4ghz can start.

It's dead now won't boot. Don't know what happend, I think something shorted though as the lights kind of flickerd then it died. The fans all come on and everything but doesn't boot. Guess I have to take it all apart now and figure out what it is..
