    Question DFI Lanparty NF3 250Gb + Turion MT-30 (a little help please)

I have the mobo + cpu specified in the title.
    I also have 2x512 Geil ultra-x with bh-utt chips.

i have tmod's bios (6/23) but i can't run the memory at high frequency.
    my current setup is:
    8x325 = 2600MHz @ 1.35v
3.3V for RAM, but since the board is not modded i only get 3.2V on the multimeter.
My ram has been tested on a lanparty nf4 ultra-d and it was almost stable at 250MHz @ 3.3V (3.2V in the BIOS)
the problem is that i can't even get it stable around 230MHz. could it be that the turion has a poor memory controller?

can anyone tell me which BIOS should i try to use? one that is UTT friendly.

    thank you in advance

What DIMM slots are you using? Make sure it's 1 & 3.

    Try relaxing MAL.

If you suspect IMC's to blame, try with 2T and/or 1 stick at a time.

    i use 1 and 3
the problem is that i had 2x256 old bh-5 and they were only stable around 232MHz.. so i guess the problem is not CPC related..
    however, i will try 2T..
do you know a good bios for me?

Sorry, I'm kinda out of the loop on BIOS selection & stuff.

    It's been a while...

Use the search, you should be able to come up with something.

Try this place for many DFI NF3 BIOS: http://www.lejabeach.com/DFI/dfiut25...250gbbios.html , I found Tic-Tac BIOS mods the best.

IIRC, you'll need a Tic-Tac modded BIOS and a PSU with it's 3.3V pot turned up to 3.5V for this board to get 3.3 vdimm. CAS 2 @ 250mhz with only 3.2V is kind off tough for BH-UTT and this board.

    xenolith:
I cannot do that because my PSU cannot be modded. i have a Levicom Xalien 450W visible power. I can only mod the 5V and the 12V rail.
However, i intend to use a DDR Booster, and this problem will be gone.

i tryed cpc off: no improvement, but considerable performance loss.
i also tryed 5.04 tictac modded bios, if i remember correctly, and i was't even able to boot at these settings.

i guess it would be best for me to use the booster and see what happens at higher vdimm.

    i found nemo:

yes, i ran 1.5-2-2-10 on my utt sticks @ 252 3.1 v. i have the newest updated bios for newark and lancaster cores. 6/23? i say you get some GOOD tccd or uccc and go for 325*8 with the 180 devidor for 289mhz on the ram. i say you get the 1gbhz stick from g.skill like i did. or go in the forsale section and find a good stick that will do what you need it to do. i think you can get more out of ur chip too. and you should try to get bh - 5 at 3.5v, that's thier best.

the most i got from my chip was 2900MHz @ 1.5V - just for a superpi run.
do you remember which bios version did you exactly use when running the utt's @ 253?
    thank you very much.
now, about changing my memory modules, i have second thoughts because i just bought them, and i can't get anything better for that amount of money. searching for smth in the sales section is out of discussion, because i live in romania, and shipping will increase the cost too much.

one that tony made 4.1v avail in bios if ur pots r tuned 2 4.2v, hence you must be .1 v overvolted so it can run the lower number. but yea try tony's bios, i think someone posted it earlier but lancasters need bandwidth cuz my write speed went down, and fluctuates compared to my venice, the most mb/s i can get is 1855 mb/s but usually i get 1635 mb/s and i don't understand why??? ram runs @ 266 mhz and my venice had ram @ 27 ( 270*10 )

    thanx.
i also get around 1855MB in memtest86, but only about 1300-1400 in everest
i don't wanna be annoying or anything, but i couldn't find tony's bios.
i would be grateful if you could post a link to the bios u say is good for newarks and lancasters.
    thank you in advance.

    is it the 914 bios?
if it is, then i'm afraid it doesn't work. my mobo doesn't boot with that version.
i'm lucky to have an abit nf7 which i use for flashing back my bios.
so far, tmod's 6/23 is quite good.
i've tryed tictac's 5.04 but i can overclock my memory even less.
i also tryed tictac's 3.31, but i also get no boot

    seems i'm quite limited

    edit:
is there any chance that overclocking could be influenced by the hdd? i'm using an IDE hdd. do i have any chances of better results with a sata drive?
i thought of this because on nforce2, sata was a problem, and i was thinking that on nforce3, it could be the other way around

a dual channel kit will result a lower clock on NF3 250Gb
i've tried my Geil Ultra-X 2x512MB (winbond BH-5 UTT) on Ultra D it can ran @ 260 2-2-2-5 @ 3.5v, but with the NF3 250Gb it can only max @ 220ish no mater what timing and vdimm we sets..it also happen on my Team Xtreem PC4400 (TCCD) it can't even reach 250 on DFI NF3 250Gb but it ran fine @ 310 3-3-3-7 with the Ultra-D

i dunno vortex... also o/cing the ram can be helped if you mess with dram strength, like i have mine set for 2 with my lancaster, and with my clawhammer i had to use level 3, i guess cuz it's older. and maybe they don't work cuz of the revision of ur cpu, hence newer ....
