    FX-60 + K8N Diamond Plus + VapoLS

Fricken sweet numbers so far...can't wait to see more come of this. I think now's the time more then ever to start getting ancy about this chip hitting retail shelves...lets all cross our fingers for no cold bug.

3.39GHz Dual Core @ 1.35v on a VapoLS is enough to get me excited anyways...can't wait for more.

Huge bummer...guess I'll wait on Intel and see what they bring forth in the next quarter or two...I'm gonna need something that can handle the cold.

Thought it was 3.9 misread omg lol

3Ghz w, watercooling 24/7 would be nice. Maybe 3.1-2 w/ VapoXE or some other cooling that does not get too cold

In other words, fx-60 isn't that great. A good opteron (0530 TPMW) would most likely beat the fx-60. Just my

A fair enough judgement...but am I correct to assume that the FX-60 is then simply an opteron that's unlocked out of the box?

Unless this one fx-60 is a dud, I'm certain your assumption is right

This chip does ~3.0ghz air, which is amazing for a dual core chip...and let it settle a little. Its not even out yet retail, so there will always be good steppings and bad. Not to mention that the marginal increase in 3dmark from an increase in mhz is greater than previous FX's...More on that when its released.

Good to hear I suppose...and given that/if it's basically a factory unlocked opteron it should be interesting to see how these things are doing once they've actually been released and we go through a few good-bad stepping revisions like previous A64 and FX chips.

Is this a retail mobo or is it a pre-release deal that I can't get ahold of?

I haven't seen it available as of late, but I live up north here in Canada, and we never see new hardware quite as often as our neighbors to the south...at least not as soon.

Does anyone have a best guesstimate of when these will hit the retail shelves?
