    Rosetta definitely prefers AMD over Intel. My Opty 175 is pounding 'em out that's for sure. Not sure if it is exactly two times though. There's overhead... AMD DC is definitely king of the hill though, in Rosetta.

    DX's are pretty strong, too. But not like the DCs.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I'm glad to see more XS folks are starting to run Rosetta. I think its' a great project. I just broke through into the top 100 today, am sitting at 96 or so. I think I'll be outputting at least 6,000/day, maybe 6500.
    Was talking to Victor and he said how sweet it would be if XS and XPC could merge into one, in Rosetta. I agree, XPC is a power, for sure. We are getting ready to pass into 3rd overall. But FDC and DPC are in another league. XS will be a power, but I'm not sure it will get beyond the tier XPC is in. Together ( "Allied Xtreme", "XX", "Xtreme²" ? ) we'd approach the level those two are at. Probably a pipe dream.
    So, anyway, get it going on and come on up. Lots of teams to pass yet! Let XS's power be known!
    Dammit... I thought so. My DX and Sonoma 2Ghz are producing but we are getting our butts handed to us by AMD's....
    BTW ser, Teams cannot merge the last time I checked... i'd like to have it. But I do not think it's possible... I know users cannot merge....(well they can but their previus work/points are not transferred along with them
    ok, I dl'ed the client, have the optimized stuff installed, the boinc manager is running, but how the crap do I get work to do? I'm tired and a bit hung over, and im just really confused by Rosetta right now. Wayyy different than D2OL.
    Oh and happy new year to everyone!!!
    you added the account etc to your Boinc?
    Then if the preferences are set ok go to project, click the rosetta project, and then on Update, it connects to the server then and should download work.
    yep. figured it all out just before I checked back here. It appears to be up a running, although its gonna take a while to adjust from D2OL.
    Oh btw, is there a rough average of how long each unit should take to crunch for a given speed processor?
    but looks good... did you adjust the disk space and all the other stuff...
    If someone could link to or write up a tutorial on exactly what performance effect the different rosetta options have, that would be awesome.
    IMPORTANT - Please note:
    Let BOINC download all files, first, before shutting it off to install the optimized clients.
    Let it say "finished downloading" before shutting it off to change the client.
    Actually it will "say" this >> Rescheduling CPU: files downloaded, in the Messages tab/(section).
    Well, it is supposed to be. Plum told me when I first set it up to make sure I did that. So I've always done it that way.
    Buffer? Answers above, on that one.
    rosetta_4.81_windows_intelx86=IDLE
    Boincmgr=IDLE
    Go to your global options on account page and set it to use 1 thread if theres multi CPUs. It's doing 2 because you have HT.
