I'd wait for when the 3007FWP hits on Jan 5th, I am sure the lower end LCDs will all drop then ...

that looks pretty sweet, kind of makes me want to upgrade from 19". the only thing is 11ms is still pretty slow for First person shooters. I think newegg has a Hyundai 32" lcd for just over 900.00 with 8ms

I noticed that Europeans often think that stuff Americans think is expensive is actually cheap. We're used to MUCH cheaper prices in the US, so its hard to compare. Part of it is that we have much lower taxes than your VAT type taxes. Americans would cringe if we had to pay even close to as much in taxes.

I have no doubt that prices of gear in europe are quite high, but spare a thought for us antipodeans, sometimes our prices making europe look like a bargin, especially when you factor in the difference in the average wage. The 2005FPW is around $AU1200 (approx $US860) and I haven't seen it on special much cheaper then that. I have seen the 2405FPW as low as $AU1299 but, although it certainly didn't stay there for long. I guess it's the long distance shipping that makes it hurt so much. I've often see prices in the USA and gone to order something and have it sent over, only to find the postage costs to be astronomical and destroy any kind of savings. Oh well, you get that on big jobs

I beleive its due to the massive duties/tarrifs put on to products when they are imported here. In the end, the consumer ends up paying.

I've recently opened an online retail store (see sig), and I was going to become a distributor for Prometeia products (Mach2). But I decided against it for the moment because by the time I forked out $200+shipping/unit +GST +Customs tax and then have to charge gst on top of that, the sale price wouldn't be attractive. I haven't ruled it out at the moment, but i'm searching for a cheaper shipping method, but there doesn't seem to be one . I saw one australian store selling them for around $1650. I dunno how they sell the vapos for a decent price. Even shipping in bulk (16+ units) did very little to drop the price. So it would appear to me that shipping is the major killer, but the taxes certainly don't help.

    holy mother of gawd

30" PC LCD !! fook me right in the ear!!

you know, i mean you KNOWWW those bastards will run no less than $2000.
so you guys best be waiting for a long time to afford one of those.

    but god dang,, imagine it...

one thing they NEEEEEEDDDDDD to fix is how windows looks on the non native resolution. running at 1680x1050 on my old 2005FPW really messes with your eyes after a period of time.
Just cuz the screen is bigger does NOT mean your eyes can handle looking at a smaller image. its not exactly true.
but to not run native res. windows just looked like absolute dog e. blah!!...

anywho,, go dell with their massive LCD's!!!!
